I got an e-mail from Danny on the night of our club Christmas party saying that even though our pics had not won, he wanted to include one as a cover & asking us to send a high resolution pic. I just had a weird vibe and went with my gut & did not send it. I'm sooooooooooooo glad I have learned to trust my guts. Whatever the outcome or truth of this, I'm glad to be out of it.

*Lucky members in Southern California will be able to see these calendars first at any local meets we attend*
Lucky? LOL~ More likely the ill fated calender complete with date errors will join copies of the Mayan dooms day calender in a glass bottle that washes up on a California beach 10,000 years from now~

More information. I *just* heard back from Danny - just a few hours after posting my last note.

Here's a portion of what he sent me:
Quote:
I left town on Saturday and literally fly in today at 4:30 and rushed to the post office to ship out the orders that I received without even knowing the circumstance. My roommate said 2 people wanted refunds and that was all that he told me. He did not consult with me nor did he give me the scoop on whats going on over the break. In any case, I took pictures of the calendars (all 150 of them) and each month to post up so everyone can see that this isn't a hoax. I shipped out the first batch today and received tracking numbers. Hopefully when people receive them in 2 days, they will vouch for me and this thing can get settled.
I leave it up to you all to determine the best course of action.

If he has the ability to email, he has the ability to respond to the mod pm's and to read the threads on the forums to see what's going on. Interesting too that before he seemed to state he was using Print Pelican - then why the Kinko's? Much like the roommate graphic design/using another's services, it seems.

And here, he said he'd be shipping out the Miata calendars the first part of this week, apparently while he was out of town?? IMO, he's trying to stop the bleeding, ie people seeking refunds, while avoiding dealing directly with forum owners/mods or posting here.

Wow this got out of hand quickly! First and foremost thanks to everyone who vouched for me and gave us the benefit of the doubt. I would like to clear some things up and we can go from there. Sorry for the late reply, I just flew from my trip today and this was brought to my attention. Disregard anything "Shigeta" has to say because apparently he is great at making up stories and is still mad that he didn't get paid for the editing (even though he signed a contract saying he would do the editing in exchange for his logo on the calendars). Shigeta I won't publicly tarnish your reputation like you tried to do mine, but please stop making lies.

Furthermore, the only reason that this whole "scam" talk had even surfaced is because some members decided to take it to the boards without PM'img/e-mailing me or my roommates. None of us would spend the amount of time/effort to make these, then turn around and gip the members. Especially considering I've been an active member since 2005.

We have been on point with this whole project, from e-mails, phone calls to PM's and have continued our efforts in making sure these calendars were produced and distributed. There is no reason to think otherwise and as soon as the first wave of members receive their calendars (friday or saturday) they will surely vouch for us and this will be laid to rest. Here are some pics to show that they are ready to go!

That forum just reminded me how bland looking BMWs are...

Granted, most of the Chevy catalog is also uninspired, but at least our Camaros look badass

Oh the drama. I came on today looking for a Camaro calendar I recall seeing a thread on a while back and whoa did I get way more info than I intended.

Quite an interesting read I must say. Reminds me a little of the Salem witch hunt stories but with much less severe consequences.

I certainly hope it works out for all parties involved but if not, feel free to grab a copy of this version I threw together on zazzle.com. A couple of the images were lower resolution and had to be reduced in size. If those owners wish to provide higher resolution imagery I will be happy to update.

Other than that all top 12 of the survey results are in order of their ranking even though the preview only shows through October. http://www.zazzle.com/2013_camaro_5_...l=5thGenCamaro

Happy New Year everyone.

Interesting given we know pm's were sent, deadlines were missed... You'd think if he was unjustly accused of theft and fraud, he'd directly, unequivocally say the Kinkos incidents never happened. He just accuses the graphic artist of being upset for not being paid, then confirms there never was an agreement for payment, just as the GA said, and doesn't state why he used someone other than his roommate.

I hope a forum authority will contact the GA and try to follow up w Brian @ Kinkos to ensure any calendars sold here aren't stolen goods.

Still seems shady...JMO

It'll be interesting to see if everyone who ordered one receives one or a refund quickly...

Where should I begin? I am disappointed in the fact that this thread was even made before a PM or e-mail was sent to me. Had "Spkcamro12" tried to contact me before he created this thread I could've at least explained the situation at hand.

Let me break this down. The initial reason the calendar sales thread was deleted in the first place was because the "Camaro5.com" logo was used on the cover without asking permission from the site administrators. I spoke with Tran but never recieved a reply as to how we should handle that. That was on the 27th of January. I was awaiting a response from him but never got one. That night I flew out of town for the holidays and did not come back until this afternoon.

Some members were kind enough to let me know what was going on without making any presumptions. Furthermore, lots of false stories have been floating around making this whole ordeal seem like a hoax. If you combine the three (deleted thread+false stories+delayed response) it would make almost anyone believe this whole thing is a scam. I sure hope you guys can actually see the clear picture now and we can move on with this. I'm not even going to try to explain how committed we've been to making this calendar happen considering you've all been a part of the process and know how much time/effort was exerted. In the end lots of speculation without any basis.

Most recently, the cover page+backpage have been edited (not even knowing this thread existed) to remove the logos so we can get the ball rolling again. I will have a sample proof by friday and the actual calendars by Monday/Tuesday at that soonest. Thanks to all who vouched for us and showed their support.

PLEASE PM/E-mail me if you have questions for any reason.

I paid using PayPal gift. I used my credit card and covered the 88 cent service fee myself. When I sent a Payment Request to Walid Hamidy this afternoon, I included the 88 cent fee. Walid refunded me $20.88 in less than an hour.

For the record, Danny has posted multiple photos in Miata.net forum showing multiple copies of completed calendars and almost every month. These are actual photos of the calendars, not mockups. Here's one example:
