Throttle body spacer anyone?

Is anyone else thinking of putting a throttle body spacer in their car? i want to keep the motor N/A, not that i dont like force fed engines, just not in my camaro. Thinking Airaid or afe. I want to do something along the lines of the stage 2 by fastlane down the road so every thing i can do to help mix the air up a bit the better. I dont recall seeing a post on this before so i figured i would start one.

umm

i tried one in my truck and i got nothing out of it expect a lil whistle lol

but that was my experience and others i know, but i have a CAI as well so maybe thats why i didn't see a difference, i was already getting fast enough air to get the best mix

There is no advantage of installing one. A lot of people have problems if they are not made to stand up to the heat. They warp and are a source of air in leakage.

My take. they can make a difference on older motors. I'd follow this rule.

if you have coil packs instead of a tradtional distributor... It won't help. Not that coil packs have anything to do with it but the Air fuel mixture is good enough now with the new intakes that the spacer doesn't do much.

I think they made sense when you needed to isolate the aluminum throttle body from the hot aluminum intake. But when you already have a plastic intake, they are about as useful as "Tornado" intake spinners or putting magnets in your fuel lines.
