Gave it another try tonight, only difference is I didn't slowly push the accelerator to the floor. RPM stopped just above 4K.

Yep me too, tried yesterday. Problem was I was too much of a wussy before about pushing the go pedal down fast.

I see I'm not the only one having problems with launching. I have tried with it in all three modes (press once, press twice and then with trac ctrl on) and it's a slow start each time or it bogs down. Yes I am used to a stick although yes this car is different. When I tried Comp Mode yesterday- it did NOT feel right so I backed off (rev'd up high and felt like it took the pedals!)....didn't like it at all! To see so many of us are having issues, tells me that there needs to be someone on here that can show a vid of a good launch or explain it really well. At this point, any car leaves before me from a light/stop sign....and until now, I've always been the first to leave.
It really shouldn't be complicated.

Well the rev limiter should keep it from going boom if it doesn't keep it at 4k
Can't wait to get this thing. |

Simply flooring it and popping the clutch at redline will not only really wear out your car, but you'll get more wheelspin than traction and your launch will not be very good. The trick is to get the right balance between "bogging" and "boiling". However, most reviews got better launches not using launch control, but finding their own perfect RPM (well before redline though!)

The V6 does not have launch control/Comp mode, correct? So basically just need to find the right RPM and go?

Hello!
|
What was the time differences from using launch control and them not using it...the magazines and stuff?
I never thought to use it the other night but should have as I couldn't get out for anything! 2.4 60' was the best I could muster! I may have to try this tonight when I get home...see how it works! |
