Not sure if this is the same thing but the day I drove my SS off the lot I noticed the whole steering column badly off to the left. While holding the wheel at 10 & 2 O'clock and sitting straight up, my right arm is bent much more than my left arm. If you look through the windshield, from the outside, down to the steering column it looks really bad. I did take it to the dealer and they said they "adjusted" the whole column but its still not straight. The dealer told me its as far to the right as it can go. I have learned to deal with it but still feels awkward to me. I tried adjusting the tilt and in/out but it makes no difference on the angle. I'd take a picture but she is in storage for now.

What about the range of the tilt column?
When driving, I'm more comfortable with the seat lower and when the column is tilted all the way down, the steering wheel is still too high. Is there any way to modify the column to drop it lower? |

Titled steering wheel
Old Thread, but new 2014 Camaro 2LS owner. My question to this issue of a canted towards the drivers door steering wheel is, Can this be corrected through aftermarket parts? Admittedly its a minor issue to some and I have read where it is designed that way for "spirited driving" IIRC, but it really irks me. Otherwise, love the car. Online searches show lots of things to purchase, from Steering Wheels to Columns to Shafts. Thanks in advance for your time.

There are 4 torx bolts that attach the steering column to the body. I loosened those 4 bolts then centered the steering column then retightened the bolts. You can get it close but not 100% because of steering geometry. There is a slight angle to entire assembly so the steering lines up with the steering rack input. I believe it was done this way to minimize steering effort and increase response. Without so many angles the steering is much more responsive with less input.
