Yes, the methanol is what keeps the fuel supply up. In the event of a methanol failure though there are safeties into the system (Along with the LED lights on the dash) that will pull all the timing from the vehicle (Therefore making it pig rich, and ton less hp) so it will feel flat and the end-user knows that it is not pumping!

As we spoke already, if Birm goes the next step into the blower cam we're going to look at Squash. LPE or ADM.

I will be ordering an ecs kit very soon already have a pile of other stuff i need, id850's, zl1 pump, adm fpcm, zr1 map, guages, tsp long tubes. Cannot wait, but was wondering what you guys that already have the kit think, should i get a meth kit and turn up the boost or just stick to the restricted level for now. I am well aware of drivetrain, tire, etc. issues. I have owned a vortec 650hp trans am and svt lightning and know that boost is addictive just dont know if i should go all out now or b happy with around 600rwhp.

After talking to Chris and Vanquisher and of course Matt and Rodney at FSP, I decided to just do it right the first time but do it for safety not for the power. Granted power still came with it but it wasn't the focal point of the meth.

As far as your drivetrain, mine is my DD so I strengthened the parts I thought most susceptible to failure nothing more nothing less.

I am at 675+ and it is very manageable on the street and a beast on the highway!

I see you mention safeties. Now is that something unique to the Alky Control kit or are we talking about the tune itself?

Tune itself.

And yes Birm decided to do meth for safety.. I'm not really a big add a bunch of timing type guy with methanol.. We just install it more for an octane supplement, with the same timing as before we usually see 30 or so rwhp from the IAT reduction at least. I could have brought Birm up to 16-18* of timing (Or more) like a lot of other tuners and make 40-60 more rwhp, but why put a stock bottom end on the edge? This power is fairly unusable lol.
