I totalled my 2002 Z28 Christmas Eve. Been driving a Dodge Ram for almost six months now. I am so ready to get my car. I wonder how much longer before it will be delivered?

My dealer informed me today that my order is at event code 3400, with a build date of week of 6/29. I was at 1100 on November 4, 2009 and am disappointed that my car is still not delivered... I was the 4th order from my local dealer in a small town here in Tennessee. They had an allocation of only 6 and I'm #4 (R6P). I see others that have ordered this year and seem to be receiving theirs or are way ahead of mine?? My question is, is my car behind others because I ordered mine from a small town dealer with a smaller allocation than many others? Or is there no real order at GMs plant? Seems if I ordered mine Nov. 4, 2008 that I should have received it already?? Anyone have any ideas??

It is 100% related to your dealer's allocation (actually Production Guide Number) of 6.

Thanks for the info. I thought they would roll in according to order time. I didn't understand why the allocation number for the dealer had anything to do with it? I suppose if I had ordered it from a larger dealer with a larger allocation I may have had it by now! But I'm happy with my dealer here in town and I know the wait will be worth it!

what exactly does 4800 "rail ramp unload" mean? i live in hawaii and the dealer here told me my car is at 4800. is there an extra event code for orders that have to travel over seas?

Rail ramp unload means that your car have been offloaded from a train. Since your in hawaii maybe it is some where on the west coast awaiting loading to a ship and then across the water to you. Good luck

HELP cause' I am confused!

My dealer told me last week we should have a vin number even though it's suppose to be in QC. But, when I called today (Tuesday 6/23) I was told that the status hasn't changed since last week and we still have no vin number. All I want is a freakin vin number at this point so we can start the financing part. Is this normal?? When can I expect a Vin number?

If it's produced, it has a VIN. Period.

Ask your dealer for your current event code. If it's 3800 or greater, you have a VIN. Alternately, as much as I hate to tell you to do this, call the 1800 number and give customer service your 6-digit order number. They should be able to give you the VIN based on that too.

I figured as much from reading these threads about the vin number as we were at 3800 on 6/19 according to my dealer. I told my dealer when I called again today that we just need the vin number so we can start working on financing be it with GM or another company.

I'll try my dealer again tomorrow to have him research the vin number and if I have to I'll call GM's 800 number you just gave me and do it myself.

No I didn't... 1-800-222-1020

Your dealer must be blind. If he knows that your event code is 3800, then he should see your VIN right next to it.

UPDATE- okay, I don't think my dealer realizes I am not just some general customer that doesn't do their homework, cause everything he saying ...that it's in broadcast as of June 9 and then now that it's produced and in QC with no vin number makes no sense to me.

So, I just called GM cause I can't wait (thank you TRM002 ) and got the real truth. Yes, they did order my car (thank goodness, cause' I already had one dealer that never did) but, according to customer service it's still in status 3400 and scheduled for production. Okay, now that makes more sense to me and now I have the real story. Breathing easier....just need more patience. LOL! Thank you.
