The check engine light is on because your engine is off.

typically, if it's a covered part they'll pay the towing. but if the problem is something that isn't covered, like the battery, then you pay the tow bill.

![]() Then we all jump out and scare the shit out of him? ![]() Yep, no alternator making juice, no oil pressure, etc. CEL will be on, means nothing. Should have a low voltage code unless it is the starter or solinoid.

well you most likely slopped mud up on the starters solenoid shorting it out and thats why you can not get the car to start. If a solenoid is bad people in the day would just take and have someone try to turn the car on while someone with a screw driver arcs the power from the positive lead that comes from the battery on the big bolt in the middle of the solenoid to the smaller bolt on the side of the big screw thus engaging the solenoid to force it to work. If its the right combination bingo it starts if not your on the wrong secondary bolt on the front of the solenoid..there are two small and one large.......Good luck sounds like driver error. And laying in the mud you could get it to start...you may just have to wash the solenoid off and let it dry.

OK..ok..ok...here is what you do. Press the onstar button and have them run an onboard diag. If you dont have it just pull out your CC and reactivate it for 6 months. At least they can run the diag and let you know what the probable cause is. Oooorrr...go this route. Pop the hood and check your under the hood battery connection, if tight then proceed t the trunk and check your connection directly at the battery. Just because your lights and radio work does not mean you still dont hve a secure enough connection to turn the starter. That click sound sound like the battery to me.

The battery is probably dead enough to allow electricity in the car but not enough to start the car...did you try jumping the battery???

Dude, all it is is a bad ground. All you need to do is dig some of the mud out from under your tires so your frame can ground itself to the earth. Once you do that it will start back up. Happens all the time.
