I ordered this car for the sole purpose of getting my hands on an OnStar.

Interesting post, didn't confuse me one bit, two thoughts in one sentence.
Amuzing and yeah.... speeding like that is fine by me if the only one that gets hurt is you.

Why should it shut down in 4th @ 116? If you drag race you don't want to go into OD, if you have a 6 speed car, 5th & 6th are both OD gears. So sure hope my SS goes a whole lot faster than 116 in 4th once I get done modding it because I have issues with putting my cars in 5th @ the track.......... 4th is your last 1:1 gear. That's why most drag cars still run old school 3 speed auto's & power glides due to not needing OD. 1:1 with a 3.45 gear should get you well into the 120's @ the track before hitting the limiter.

I read a lot of your stuff, you talk a good talk, but now I'm starting to question your practical car knowledge & how much you really know about the aspects of drag racing, or cars all together??

Your remark that I quoted really seems more like trolling than being informative. I guess I'm going to have to check with some of my friends with GT500's and see what their cars do in 4th. If you look at my sig, that list of cars is not what I have owned, it's what I own at this time, & I've been building and racing cars for going on 26 years now. I feel secure in my knowledge base & don't spend my time trolling ford forums trying to point out what I feel is wrong with their cars as you do with the new Camaros.

Cool

Well... with technology today, I'm waiting on Insurance companies to ask for a report of your driving from Onstar before determining your rates! HAHAHAHA..really, I think that would be a violation of Privacy, and Onstar would go bankrupt because noone would want to use them anymore!

Actually, all of our work trucks have tracking devices. I can log onto the site and see where the trucks are at anytime, what their route has been, how many stops, stops with the truck on or off and even the speed at any part of the route...everything! So, I imagine Onstar can see / track the same things - and more.

I think it's awesome you went that fast. What a RUSH that must have been! I know from past experience, SPEED = ADRENALINE! And that was with an old rebuilt hot rod.

So let me get this straight. If your going 116 mph in Malibu, your OnStar deactivates the Tire Pressure monitors and e-mails you a status report?

Does this only take place in Malibu?

Do you have to be in 4th gear to be going 116?

What if you are in 5th or 6th?
