Suspension question

Looking for some help. I want to drop my car about 1.5 inches but cannot seem to find any springs out there that wont leave a rear lag... I know coilovers will eliminate that but just trying to avoid spending all that $$. Any info on what springs i can get to get an even drop with no rear lag?

Thanks

You do not want to use lowering springs to go that low. If you have to go 1.5+, bite the bullet and get coil overs. Otherwise, dial it back to 1.25 or so. Do it right and do it once.

As Chase pointed out, going that low isn't advised. Your strut travel will be drastically reduced and the ride will definitely suffer. If you just HAVE to go that low, you have at least two spring options. H&R Sports springs advertise 1.4in but several have gotten considerably more. I think I remember someone getting 1.8in drop with these springs. BMR also makes a 1.4in drop spring, front/back. Personally, I like the 1.25in drop from the Pfadt springs. Nice lowered look, front and back, while still having a decent ride.

1.5" is good bit to lower a car using factory struts/shocks because it will really diminish the lifespan of the struts/shocks and will make getting the desired alignment specs pretty hard (using factory hardware) without also adding additional wear to the tires. If you are set on dropping it that much I would definitely look at coil-overs but if you could live with a little less drop our BMR 1.4" lowering springs (SP022) will work well for you and allow you to get good alignment specs without and not lower the lifespan of your factory struts/shocks too much.

If you have any questions or if there is something I can help you out with let me know.

You really want to stay in the 1-1.25" range. The stock struts/shocks are just not setup correctly to go that low. At one point on the 98-02's we were using the Eibach Sportlines (2"+ drop), looked great, but just tore things up. I'd suggest going with the Pfadts at 1.25" all around they work out well for lowering and keeping a decent ride. If you want to go lower, BMR has the 1.4" rear drops.
