Cold Air Intake and sound pitch?
Just installed a Roto-fab exhaust on Sunday and have noticed that the tone of the entire car has gone down about half an octave. My previous set up was just a Cherry Bomb Exhaust (v8) and it would get a much higher tone after 3k revs (it would scream) Having added the intake, it has gone to a mid tone roar, I am assuming this is normal, but was curious as to who had the most substantial change in tone when pairing exhaust with and intake.

Correct, this is normal. When I got my intake I could notice my stock exhaust note had changed

Same with me and with Solo Performance MACh-X LLT J-Pipes I just can't hit the pedal when I'm driving in town. Over 2,500 RPM"s is really loud and I got some police warnings, for a V6 they could'nt figure out the base tone the car has.
I have a G5CR air intake with a fuctional Nickey Chicago Stinger Hood with a ram air brining in fresh air from the hood scoop to the open filter. It wishsels like mad....

Can't speak for other intakes but AIRAID is bad ass. It makes a huge difference from stock. It sounds and looks great. performance noticeably improved and even MPG went up. I spent few months researching and reading bout all major intakes for v6. I got mine for $280 shipped, Brand new.
Now im planing on MRT 2, DT shorties and god knows what else... |
