When it comes down to it, the Vette looks better than the Camaro, it performs better, it is lighter, it is sleeker, and it is an all around better car by about any stretch of the imagination.

But I like musclecars, not sports cars.

I chose the Camaro out of favoritism and what's in my heart moreso than to go fast, so I'd choose it over a Corvette any day. I respect and admire Corvettes, but it's just not my kind of car.

The Camaro does suit you perfectly, Rob... even ninja'd out.

We all have different tastes & preference. I'm a fan of many types of high-performance cars... domestic and foreign. The Vette is a bargain compared to dream cars of mine (911 Turbos and SL AMGs). I used to borrow my Dad's 944 Turbo and 928 S4 in the 80s /90s so I grew on liking sports cars as well. This is the same time when I had my '70 GTO 'vert and '88 TransAm GTA... good times. I also recall when I was a kid all I played with were Corvette Matchbox & HotWheels. Always admired the Vettes through the years. Maybe I can finally turn those toys into one big toy to enjoy... you only live once after all and if it's feasible then why not. Although a godly ZO6 or almighty ZR1 would be like Zeus on wheels, I'd be content with a nice new base Stingray.

Sorry guys, I'm not going to be able to make this one. Even though I'm off, I just don't have the gas to use.

Heck my 1988 GTA w/ WS6 suspension broke loose very easily as well... I'm speaking from experience.

Pulling out of the dealer lot the night I got it, it spun wide/drifted due to the torque... stock. I didn't crash but heck that taught me a quick lesson to be more gentle on the accel pedal and I didn't even floor it. Back then that stock L98 was only putting out ~225HP and 330TQ.

There is an upcoming show and it's still about 3 weeks away but I will be one of the show judges at an open car show at Maroone in Ft. Lauderdale on Feb. 9 so if any of you or the C5M group want to participate in the show here's the registration form for more info... lots of various classes... the Camaros are in this category I attached below.

One of the vendors is also raffling off $300 worth of hydrofinish... it's the same one that worked on my car and is also normally contracted by Maroone Chevrolet since they do dealer-sourced work on new Chevy trucks, Camaros, and Corvettes.

  • Dash Plaques for the first 100 vehicles
  • Trophies for the 'Best Of' in over 50 classes
  • Door Prizes
  • Silent Auction table
  • 50/50 Raffle
  • Live demonstrations by the BSO SWAT Team
  • FLPD static display of police cars and other emergency response equipment
  • FLPD Mounted Patrol demonstration
  • DJ by Rockin Rich
  • BBQ, Cotton Candy, Snow Cones
  • Venders
  • Raffle for $1000 leather inerior from Specialty Automotive Treatments

The good thing is this won't be your ordinary hodge podge of detailing supplies & solvents anyone can go to a local pepboys to pick up... for example, I'm talking about bar/pub style lights, neon signs, and OH-related displays provided by a regional distributor... like I said man cave goodies for some eye candy in your dwelling.
