I have always been a Craftsman guy...until I saw Made in China on a new Craftsman hand tool the other day. After calling to ask and doing some reading, I found out that most of their tools are now made overseas.
My future tool purchases will not be Craftsman. :(

CDI is good for the price. They are made by snap-on, and fit the bill and job perfectly for most people.

Yep, snap-on owns cdi and its the same quality. Snap on really doesn't make many of the parts themselves, they farm everything out to local machine shops

Snap - on is the legend but your paying for the name.
If you want nice quality without paying for the snap -on name look into Waterloo boxes.

I use craftsman and sk brand. I like sk ratchets better, but for the price cant beat a lifetime replacement on craftsman tools. imo....

I can say that I have some of each. Craftsman sockets are just fine for home use, but I have some specialty Snap-On sockets and a bearing packer, when I can flag down the truck it's like a kid in a candy shop.
But, Craftsman torque wrenches SUCK! They don't last at all and they also aren't covered under the awesome lifetime warranty. They have no right calling these pieces of crap Craftsman. |

i need to wake up before i read posts
![]() I thought he meant tool boxes, as for tools, tools are not all created equal lol. Snap -on and Mac hand tools are the best if you do serious work crafstman are on the cheaper side but nice to have in your home garage because they work quite well most of the timeand they don't bust the budget. Air tools vary we use all different brands since we have had bad luck with snap-on air tools. I use blue point , Mac, and Ingersoll Rand

Depends on what tool, each company has individual favorite pieces for me.

Snap-On because I never have to take them back for replacement - they DON"T BREAK!
