Is the axle back setup a true bolt on? Or does it require cutting and welding?

The Axle-Back will require you to cut the factory system. HERE is a link to the install instructions.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

I wonder if we could negotiate a package deal on the street series cat back with mufflers? #16579
Anyone down with that system interested in trying this? My guess is we'd need ten of us to start?

Go HERE for pricing information. I'm sure I can come up with something.

I plan on long tubes, probably 1 7/8, CAI and tune. I want a 2.5" exhaust to maintain some back pressure. On maximum bolt on's going 3" isn't going to give much if any gain and could actually be counter productive.

That is correct. The only time I would go with a 3" system is if I was making over 600 RWHP, otherwise it is counter productive. We run ARH on our Vette and we stepped down to 2.5" after the X-Pipe, the Vette makes 575 RWHP N/A.

That was an LS3 in the sound clip.

i think guys are getting those kind of numbers or better with just the muffler delete at local exhaust shop.

I haven't seen any #'s but I'm skeptical. I'd love to see some before and after Dyno #'s using this set up. The above dyno information is running through mufflers; there is also going to be some sound quality differences.

To see the full potential of these systems you're going to need to do an Intake, Exhaust and get a tune from a good tuner. An engine is an air pump, the more efficiently you get air into and then out of it the more power you'll make. These are the mods I'm going to do to my Camaro when i get it, maybe American Racing Headers as well.

I'm all about the mufflers shops but honestly I'd rather pay a little more and have mandrel bent stainless piping with nice tips.

I for one don't like the back pressure,"popping" on Decell with the muffler delete. I don't question the power gain after getting a good look at those lead mouse maze's. I also believe with an engineered exhaust, you will not lose throttle response off decell that you absolutley will with the loss of back pressure from the muffler delete.
Last, as was mentioned is the exhaust note. We all have different taste on this. There is no right or wrong. I happen to like the street series catback system here. As long as it will work with the long tubes I go with, I'm running it.
Thanks JP.

Onother selling point with the Magna Flow exhaust is if you decide to add long tube Headers later, its going to sound great (with the mufflers). A muffler delete setup with long tube headers is ridiculously loud.

Magna Flow was a very popluar catback exhaust in the GTO community. Because you could add long tube headers and it would sound real good without being exposively loud (like a muffler delete or SLP loudmouth setup).
