I always joke around and say for every year in the Marine Corp is really 3 years on your body, due to the PT and everything, wear and tear on your knees. I got 13 more years to go and that seems like forever but when I do look back, I keep asking myself how in the hell did I make it to 7?

Man, you're on a fast track. Back in my day, it'd be good to make Sgt in 7 years. I made Sgt in 6, SSgt in 9, Gunny in 14...that was it. My body was telling me I'd better quit while I could still walk. We as Marines have a lot of ego, so we never like to admit when we're hurt. I've been shot (yes by a real gun with a real bullet), concussed I don't know how many times, broken bones, injured back, and a bunch of other stuff. The best thing I had when I was a troop, was a Gunny who always made me go to medical. The night I got shot, I told the doctors to hurry the hell up with the bandage (my shoulder was completely shattered)...I got PT at 0530. I'm waiting on VA to tell me if any of my injuries are compensable.

It won't be long...I'll be joining you in the ZL-1 club bro!

I didn't get a shot yet unfortunately. Luckily, it's not the flu or I'd be really pissed, LOL. Damn, I hope your wife gets better. Thanks a while to still be sick and it gets so irritating.

I have never had a flu shot in my life! Hardly ever sick after 20 years plus in Alaska now back here in the RAIN!

I usually get one bad cold a year. I get a flu shot always too. When I was in, they made it mandatory...just kinda got used to it. Now it's not even a shot, they just spray mist in your nose. LoL
