LOL, if you pay what the sites say, MSRP, you are overpaying. If a dealership is charging more than MSRP, move on......

people still do not understand the term suggested in MSRP I guess - here we say that acronym stands for Most Suckers Really Participate.

Invoice with incentives are the way to go I agree and freebies or killer deals on accessories.

camaros and mustangs are not muscle cars... they are pony cars...…

i test drove challenger more than a few times. it is more expensive at every level, weighs more, is drop dead sexy from outside, has a disappointing driver experience. the old challengers were a fantastic drive. these are my opinions except for the pony car fact...thats fact and bothers me almost as much as people with nice cars that still have the dealership adverts plate holders

anyone seen the news on a cuda?

anyone that thinks paying 50k for a challenger is out of thier mind. I know its about preference but the materials in the interior doesn't match with the msrp.

We also have seen plenty ZL1s in the mid to upper 12's stock too. I had a 2010 GT500 that had 540HP that only ran as good as my buddies 2012 392. I don't care what you read on the internet those cars are faster than they appear.

Objectively with the SRT8 being in low 12s and having a things like the Bilstien suspension it is subjectively a BETTER deal than AL1, which the VAST majority sits in the 12s in the 1/4 mile.
SRT8 to ZL1 is comparing apples to oranges.

43k for a base model SRT8
31k for a base model SS

I rest my case.

I also see 5.0 mustangs in the 16s, whats your point? The average Joe is not the person to go by with how fast a car is. I love how people compare the ZL1 with how fast it is against the 392 with just the 1/4 time, the game that the ZL1 wasn't even built for. Put the 392 in the ring with a ZL1 and the 392 would get chewed up, and spit out.

How do you compare a base 1SS Camaro to a SRT8 Challenger. I have owned both and I can tell you that there is NO Comparison, the SRT8 is the superior vehicle in every way.

In his defense, I think all magazines that tested the zl1 it ran a low 12. Also most people that own either a zl1 5.0 or a srt8 are doing highway pulls or drag racing. If the zl1 is all about ring times why supercharge it? Why not just use the 1le kind of like ford has the boss. It's there track car the 500 is the drag car. I wouldn't compare the 392 simply because it's not supercharged. We will see what the 6.2 motor coming out has to offer

Exactly. Even the base model srt8 has just as much if not more then a fully loaded camaro. Srt8s don't have a cloth seat option just saying

If they are paying 50k, i have some swampland for sale so send them my way. Also the SRT has features even the ZL1 does not have and the interior materials are actually better than the 60k ZL1, so that blows that argument way out of the water. I really wish people would check prices before spewing on here, R/T is CHEAPER than SS, SRT8 is 10k cheaper than the ZL1 and is nearly as quick, get over it.

Thiose are NOT comparable. Comparing a SRT8 to a 1SS is laughable at best. You would need a 2SS that is loaded to even com close to SRT8 standard levels and you would still be missing features such as push button start, the 3 mode suspension, considerably better seats, real backseat and trunk room and the SRT8 would still be the quicker car, and not by a little either. Also, a 13 1SS is over 33k, 31k was the 2010 price..........

somebody explain what a base SRT8 is - I never knew such a thing existed - I know you can put options on an SRT8 but to say there is a base package I have never seen one. There are options inside the SRT8 package but no base car - it is a SRT8 no a 1SRT8 or 2SRT8
