My car misfired 2 days ago when I went to fire up the engine, the remote start wouldn't fire with either of my keys (both batteries work). The car ran fine after I turned off the engine and turned it back on but the check engine light is still on. It's reading as an OBD II error and when I hooked it up to a diagnostic tool it read a cylinder misfire.
In calling my dealership the service manager said the engine blocks for the 2011 models were cast from aluminum and in doing so air got into the block letting coolant into the engine. If the issue is what he thinks it is then they'd have to replace the engine. Has anyone heard of this being an issue on the 2011 models? It's a 2LT, V-6. Sounds super strange they would even sell them like this and not issue a recall on the 2011s. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
