This is why I keep my car STOCK other then cosmetic mods. cars are engineered, designed, machined and manufactured with metals to meet the tolerances of the parts that they ARE BUILT WITH and the known pressure that those parts will be subjected to!
I think many people forget that American automobiles have to be designed, and manufactured with three things in mind, need to make the MPG required by the Federal Govt and the buyer, need to sell it at a price that the target market can afford, and need to make it a product that the buyer wants which takes into account, performance, amenities, and durability. this causes decisions in every piece of material, metal and design they chose. Start playing around with the equation, you may get problems. You hope you don't, you hope their is some room to play in those tolerances, but that also depends upon driving habits. I expect machinery to break on occasion, it happens, so far I have had a great experience with GM, they have covered all my repairs under warranty, and some were small, one big, new litters at 5000 miles. I extended my warranty based upon my experiences with them. your trouble is very unfortunate, I feel for you, truly I do. I hope things work out for the best ! |

Combustion chamber oil consumption occurs during periods of high vacuum, such as closed throttle or idle.
You say your car does not smoke. Try following your car while a friend drives it down a steep road with the throttle closed and transmission in low gear. At the bottom of the hill, blip the throttle. If you see blue smoke, it's cylinder walls, piston rings or valve guides. |

Just passing along old school ideas and suggestions. Warning lights/gauges are sometimes just a "you need a new engine" light.
You might be able to borrow a borescope from your C-17 crew chief and check it at the Auto Hobby shop on base.. |

How does the car run otherwise? It could be that the tune put in too much spark advance, creating detonation, and pounding the ring lands or even cracking a piston.
If I were you, I would be taking all the mods off before bringing it in, and leaving them off. These new engines put out so much power already, and are designed for that power and no more. Most of the parts are cast, not forged. They don't design in room for extra power. That's makes the engine cost more for the consumer, with no benefit. Michael |

The light cloud of something could be oil, unburned fuel comes out black.
Try following your Camaro while a trusted friend stomps on it. Let it idle for a bit (5 min) before you stomp on it. Post a video of the smoke if you see any. |

Maybe they will help you maybe they won't. If they choose not to you really can't fault them. They paid you the first time and gave a new engine. You accepted that rather than send it back. Then after replacing the engine you modded your car. I would agree that if unmodded GM is responsible. However in this case they technically aren't any longer. The only difference is you have the ability to hide what you did to the car.
Sucks and hopefully it get's resolved but, you also have to take responsibility for modding the car and changing the tune. You have no way to know that you didn't help cause the issue happening now. |

Good luck with whatever you pursue.
Unfortunately, with a tune and those mods, and the general appearance of your car, GM is probably going to be inclined to think you flog that car all day, every day, and be far less likely to do much about it. I'm not saying you do or don't, but that's how they are going to feel about it.
