I've had front facing, rear facing and then both at the same time. It's a tight fit, but doable. The others are right tho...with the rear facing, the passenger seat has to be further up and the seat back not leaning back so much. Kind of uncomfortable for the passenger. Congratulations!

A graco snug ride fits in the back seat just fine and it has a detachable base to make it just a little easier to get your baby in and out of the back seat.

This car will baby but it does take some work. Car seats really are not the issue its getting strollers in and out of the trunk.

Youll be fine just dont show weakness stick to your guns and keep your car.

I just had my infant in my 2SS today... I use the Chicco brand car seat. The base stays in the wifes Suburban, so I just use the seat belt. I put him behind the passenger seat and usually have to slide it all the way forward. Not too tricky. I bought my Camaro 750 miles away and flew with the family to get it. I drove it back with the car seat behind the drivers seat so the wife would be able to hop back there if needed to tend to the child. I had my seat more forward than normal and it wasn't the most comfortable getting in and out, but once in, I had lots of room. It can be done...

It is very important in the establishment of the father/child relationship to have a good "cool ride" foundation from the first. Nothing can damage a child's self-esteem and parental bonding more than a wimpy car, specially the first one the child rides home for the first time.

Do not embarrass your child.

As for securing the little one, duct tape works well up to about the age of four. After that, it's too expensive.

Congrats to both of you.

Buy a vert easy to load and unload

My son is now in a booster seat. Haven't had it in the car but it is great when they are out of the car seat. Mich easier to use. My daughter is 8 months old now and I will be adding the rear facing car seat once spring comes.

This.

Check how well all of those big ass infant strollers breakdown before buying. We have one that that is a jogging stroller that you can snap an infant seat into and it is great. But in order to fit anything else in the trunk with it I take the wheels off. So fold up small, or quick release wheels help a lot. That and a seat with a base as mentioned is helpful too Camaro or not.

We take the SUV almost everywhere as a family, but but my two year old won't hear of anything other than riding in the Camaro when it is just the two of us.

This was the seat I definitely saw the most when searching online for infant seats in small back seats.

You may have to give that up if you want to be a dad....lots (lots, lots, lots) of sacrifices will be made.

Um...that won't last. She's gonna ride around in the car like that?

Your kid though is a different matter all together. Time to be a Dad... family first, toys a distant second.
Truth hurts...you should prob. get a car with four doors. My son is almost six, so when we take the Camaro out he just sits in his booster. We are normally in the Impala though.

You will get real sick of trying to fight that car seat in and out of the back of the car. Trust me....

I agree with what you said above. If you are gonna keep the Cavalier long enough to pay it off, might as well keep it.

THIS X's 100. Priorities. Family first, play toys second. If that's not the order, then some growing up is needed. When the GM engineers put this vehicle onto paper, squeezing child seats into the front/back was not high on their priority list. There are plenty of other GM vehicles suited for that. Good luck.
