They all pass air there, (if no lid) but it most likely will be cold air.

You should always tune for an intake to get the most performance out of the mod and cabirate the fuel delivery for the new air seen by the MAF. Short of that you are just plugging something in and the gains will be much less across the board. Knowing how MAF calibrations work, it makes sense to tune rather than blowing fuel trims out by 10-15% and relying on the computer to constantly work to try to reach commanded AFR.

We actually developed this intake on the KDi car with New Era in NY. Let me know if you have any quesitons as I have the most miles on one of these intakes. The coolest thing about it is sitting at a red light on a 100 degree day, the Iat1's still see ambient.

They want their warranty to be intact........I'm sure everyone would be tuning

In theory, sure.

Given that I have to drive 3 states away to get tuned, that's not exactly practical. That's why I'll be going with Roto-fab. I can't do everything at once, and I'd like to start somewhere.

If you live on the east or west coast, or texas, you can get tuning. If you're anywhere in the middle - good luck. Ain't shit around these parts (I've been looking for a good GM tuner in colorado for 6 years - they don't exist).

Yes, it is no tune that most all want at this time. I can run a log on HPtune and wide band to see if the trims are that far out.
It is going to be no tune for most so as to not kill the warranty, later on after the warranty I sure tuning will be the way to go.

Both systems are great! The benefit to the K&N is that its made of REAL carbon fiber rather than being hydrodipped for the look. As we all know carbon fiber is not cheap.

I know we are not local to you, but we have had many people from CO. come to our shop in Salt Lake City for tunes and installation. Jordan is an excellent tuner and will get you taken care of if you don't mind an 8 hour drive. Feel free to Call, PM or email me with questions.

Best regards,

Tyler

You could run either intake without a tune. You get more power with the tune and we can remote tune with HPTuners. It's simple for just an intake. I have a tuning buddy in Denver. We have done several ZL1's and CTS-V projects plus some other huge things are in the works.

If you have HPT just flash it back. A lot of guys think you will kill your warranty with a tune. Not the case at all if you know what to do.
