Storage to Car Show

Hello all,

I've got a quick question for those more knowledgable in car detailing than I.

My car is currently stored underground with a car cover and I will be taking it directly from storage to a display at a car show. This is my first time doing this and with how cold the weather has been, I'm not sure I will be able to give it a proper wash in between. I'm concerned it will the car will be lightly dirty secondary to the salted roads between the caves and the convention center.

I'm thinking of doing one of the following, and please let me know your thoughts. I've never used a polisher and I don't want to use this time to learn how haha. I am however, open to other suggestions than what I planned below.

1) Go to a pay wash and use one of the self serve bays and bring my own car soap, then Speedy Surface Prep towel indoors at the show, followed by Blackfire Crystal Sealant

2) Blackfire waterless wash at the show, Speedy Surface Prep towel, Sealant

I've never used a waterless wash (unless that's another term for detailer spray) so I'm not sure what level of grime that can remove. Also, I've never clayed so I'm going with the Speedy Surface Prep towel, will a waterless wash be enough prep before using the Speedy towel?

Thanks!

I'd go with option 1, and since you are going to be applying another sealant anyways, why not just use the soap that you get at the coin op?

Good point. I do have matte black powdercoat wheels, doesn't the coin op stuff tend to be a little harsh on matte finish?

I actually have no clue. Maybe someone else can chime in here.

Why risk it? Don't use that crap if you can avoid it. No reason not to bring your own soap and a couple buckets.
