Installed 12" woofer to stock head unit and now FM won't work...HELP pls?

I wanted to ask if any of you guys/gals knew of what could be the problem with my stereo. I got a 12" Alpine type R sub installed in my car, it was hooked up to my stock head unit by a shop who has worked on 2 of my previous cars. I have always had them connect the sub to my stock head unit without any problems.

The install went great and it sounds even better unfortunately I noticed that the FM/AM won't get signal anymore but my Satellite radio still works perfectly fine!

I took it back to them and they took everything back off and checked all the cables and it turns out everything is perfectly fine, they don't know what the problem could be . I was told that they are going to do some research on seeing what could possible be wrong but I also told them I would check with you guys here because I know the Camaro5 family is very knowledgeable.

I get some signal when the car is parked but as soon as i start driving I get horrible to no signal at all (FM&AM). My satellite radio still sounds perfectly clear so IDK what to think.

So if anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

I read a post here at one point that certain aftermarket amps affect radio reception. What brand and model are you running? How did they hook it up, did they use the ******** harness, etc.?

Ive had this exact amp and speaker installed in my Cobalt and I never had a problem with the radio reception. They used a line out converter that allows them to use my stock stereo to the sub/amp.

I had the same set up before but never had any problems (im using same amp and speaker I had on the other car). Only in the Camaro i've had this problem.

This is very simple. Your problem is the Amp itself. You cannot install any sort of digital amp in the back of a camaro because they cause interference with the am/fm antenna that is imbedded in the back windowglass. Install a different amp and you will be fine.

I think you nailed it!!! Thank you very much!!
My amp even has a built in digitizer (I think thats what it's called)r so I know its a digital amp for sure. I will borrow a friends amp to make sure this is the problem before I buy another one.

BTW the 12" passenger or driver box enclosures you sell are they the same for all year Camaros? I have a 2012 and I think I remember reading somewhere that our trunk has some weird hum on there or something that makes it different in the inside from other camaros. I ask because I want to buy one sometime in the near future, Thanks in advance.

If you want even better sound get a pass through converter. It goes behind the head unit and gets a undistorted signal from the head unit instead of a mono signal from a rear speaker.
