But I will agree that the GTR is a monster. Its capable of running 10s (bone stock). It's power is always under rated along with AWD and it hauls axx.
As I recall, they didn't pick the venue. GM rented the track, brought some ZL1s, and told the media they could do what ever comparo they wanted.

at my local track, my charged camaro beats a stock gtr by .3 sec to the 60', and loses by a .1 sec. at the end of the 1320. im about 600ish flywheel.

Yeah I would take a slightly used ZO6 and new SS for the price of a new GTR any day of the week plus a ZO6 with drag radials and good driver is going to beat a GTR anyway. Sometimes I think poeple give the GTR too much credit considering the asking price.

Also i personally like the looks of the camaro better than the GTR. It just looks mean compared to the GTR

how many cars are at the same price as the gtr that can beat it? a z06? its a 2 seater v8 7 liter 3200 pound car vs a 4 seater v6 3.8 liter 3900 pound car and most of the time the gtr takes it. people dont realize the gtr isnt competing with camaros or mustangs with superchargers its going after exotics and supercars. look for the same kind of performance in a lambo and your spending 200k

I'm a self admitted Nissan/Chevy/BMW fanboy but, at some point it get ridiculous. If this, I would buy two of that...
Whether you like the "look" of it or not you have to respect the performance capabilities of the GTR at ANY price point. A twin screw 6 banger running with the big boys and spanking most....how could you not respect that

So are you saying a ZO6 can't be compaired because it doesnt have a back seat, is all motor no FI, RWD and lighter, but the exotics and supercars can be? You can't have it both ways. With a mere tire change the ZO6 can beat the GTR on both the 1/4 and road course back seat or not.

no no. someone said for the price the gtr isnt worth it i was saying the only car thats comparable to a gtr for its price is a zo6.sure with a tire change and a good driver it will beat it but at the same time with a tune the gtr will be right back in the race on stock rubber

Would not be my first response but, that would be nice win. However, I would never own a civic for a performance car, to go fast it must be pushed so far beyond its design limits that it takes a whole lot of money added to the price of the car not to mention you take the driveability, reliabilty and creature comforts away in most cases. I prefer a 10 second car that looks like a performance car and runs and drives like stock till you put your foot in it. My camaro does this, the z06 does this, but not the civic, it won`t run 10`s and still have those quality`s in my opinion.

Did you just use civic and creature comfort in the same sentence?

My friend spent around 20k including the price of the car and runs faster then 10s. How much did it cost to get the camaro to run 10s?

Even 20k sounds high. Old beater CRX or civic DX. Built h22 or b16/18. Wet shot, trans/gears, mild suspension...done.
From my import days I'm sure nobody had that kind of cash but still built seriously quick cars.
