Exhaust/CAI Help

Ok I recently traded my 2012 LFX for a 2011 1SS L99 and I'm trying to figure out the best exhaust and CAI combo. My car is a daily driver so they are the only performance mods I'm doing. I'm ordering Vararam CAI and Solo Axle-backs with J-pipes. Most of the threads I've read recommend the Solo's because they sound better when it comes to the AFM/drone noise. My question is will my exhaust note sound like crap if I use the Vararam CAI and Solo axle-backs with no tune? Most of the threads here mention tuning with CAI and exhaust.

If you want to get rid of the AFM then that requires a tune but otherwise it is not necessary with just an intake and cat back/axle back.

Ok thanks Chase! I just hear a lot of people complain about the AFM/drone...is it really that bad?

The Solo J-pipes help but a tune is really the only way to get rid of it.

Its bothersome ive learned to live with it also of you adjustor change throttle position the afm goes away you just have to keep repeating it if you drive spiritedly in s mode it will also not activate it steve from solo says there some lucky l99 that dont get the afm noise im one of the unlucky I have solo axelback and haltech intake and i like the sound its mild but it sounds good especially inside my vert top up or down if you want more tone you can remove the butrerfly valves if yours has them

Thanks everyone! I'm going have them installed and see how they sound. If it annoys me with my bad @ss system playing then I'll plan for the tune a lot sooner than July. From what I've heard and read you pretty much have to tune to unleash the real power in the car so I'm going to do it.
