There is a not a set time every year that the model year switchover happens. It could be around June but we might hear something before then about the 2014s. Information usually leaks out around a month or so before the end of a model year's end.

I must be the only one that considers the Camaro as a sporty coupe. I'm getting lambasted because I think that we should hope the V6 Camaro is a better "sporty coupe" than a Honda or Nissan or Hyundai.

Everyone acts like it's an insult to think that the Camaro could someday be so great that anyone that wants a sporty coupe would only consider a Camaro.

It's because a lot of people here are so full of themselves that they honestly believe the Camaro is some super special exclusive car.

IMHO this may be fueled by the many people who longed to own a Camaro way back when and when the 5gen appeared it awakened some dormant dreams.

I saw my first Camaro in 71 or 72. It was a 1st gen, red and was doing a brake stand, smoke pouring from the rear tires. I was 4 or 5 and asked my older brother what that was. He said that is one of those bad assed Camaros. I knew one day I'd have one. The dream was reawakened 40 years later. So yeah for some of use these are special cars. Exclusive.... not so much.

You are spot on. The Camaro is and always has been the sport coupe accessible by all. Too many people on this site do not know their history.

Blueclyde, how true! Certainly back in the '60s/'70s there were a lot of I6 and low performance V8 Camaro's sold and you saw a lot of Camaros on the street. In the '67 model year I6 engines were in 26.6% of all new Camaros sold, out of the 73.4% that were equipped with a V8 (total V8 sales were around 163,000 units) only 33,391 were hi perf V8s, the other 129,000 or so V8s were lo perf versions. People look back at the early years and think every other Camaro you saw was a high perf version, the reality is that high perf Camaros only made up about 15% of the total Camaro sales, the rest were sold to college students, secretaries, young small families that wanted a sporty car, etc.

This interior should have been in the 5Gen Camaro.

The benchmark then was the 2009 Mustang a craptastically wonderful interior. GM knows better now.

And what a car the Camaro woud have been. Just would have had a higher base price.

Yep, I have a guess but a petty former employer would likely be upset if I did. But well more than a few dollars.
