How to save money on Valentine V1 Radar detector

I've been looking at various Radar detectors that are out on the market and finally decided on buying a Valentine V1. I do not have much money (college 22 yr old) so I was looking for a good deal on Craigslist and eBay. Unfortunately I realized that these babies are going for $300plus used! Long story short I found out that you can buy a returned V1 directly from Valentine. These are the units that have been returned within 30 days from the person who purchased it, it comes loaded with the latest software and has to pass inspection. It comes with all the accessories, 30 day money back guarantee and full 1 year manufacturer warranty just like a brand new unit. They will give you a 10% discount on these units which brings the price down to $359.99 plus shipping (which was $14 for me). I thought it was fair so I pulled the trigger and now can't wait to see if its really as good as people say.

In order to get this price you have to call the company (phone number on their website) and ask if they have any returned units available. They may or may not have them so it may be a hit or miss. I know some people may think that saving $40 is not such a big deal but I rather use those to purchase something else (maybe the hidden display for the v1).

Thanks bud, I'm in college as well and been thinking about getting one but I don't need one. They're just nice to have imo. Dad has a V1 in his vette and it's pretty nifty
