Just wondering - is it the Camaro thats bugging you or the KB supercharger? From what you shared I read that the KB is what has caused your problems and that lead to the turn-off. Seems a shame to blame it on the car.
With going through such a huge headache with something, you tend to loose interest in it as a whole. I bought the car back in May of 09 and it only has 12k miles, that's how little I drive it. I haven't been having any fun with the car for the past two summers. This is not my DD, but the V would become my summer DD.

Mcdoogle may i make a suggestion. Don't do anything and go to a auto show and check out whats out there. Keep an open mind i bet you will be surprised. The Camaro,Challenger and the Mustang are all doing remodels in the next few years as well. Good luck

You're not happy. Sell it. Get what you want and don't look back.

Yes.

V is literally an upgraded camaro. Better suspension, more luxurious, less noise, more power.

No one keeps a V stock btw. I bought mine with the idea of keeping it stock and in less than 1 hour I was tracking down someone to mod it. Ended up putting about $14k in mods into it at one go before I even drove it! Now it's a fun 600+rwhp sedan with 700+rwhp on race fuel.

CTS-V all day long if you can do it and have it make financial sense with all the stuff you've done to your car.

A White Diamond CTS-V,

Long story to this one, for anyone who's been following my build thread knows I have big mods coming this year and the Camaro would be quite the beast, but I'm also on the verge of selling it.

Since day 1 of my Kenne Bell installation I was having transmission problems, and KB was giving me and my tuner the run around, and that's been back in 2011. It would bang rev limiter, shut down as I'm getting off the highway, ect... Now the issue was with the kit (4.5 intake tube and A6 Camaro don't go well) and by the time we knew about Ted from Jannetty's fix about it, the damage has already been done.

So after the long two summers of having a half working car and trying to tweak around the issues, I became seriously frustrated with it. The transmission is toast, 2nd gear would hold on the dyno which is why we hoped it was still okay, but on the street was a different story. My tuner is going to be building my trans out of his pocket, plus selling me parts at his cost (another story for another time maybe). I think it's awesome that my tuner will do that, but on the other hand I almost lost amusement for my car. After going through such a headache with it, it's just not fun for me anymore.

So I've been contemplating selling the car and the parts I recently bought for it (I'd be happy to get about 37k for the car) and get myself a used White Diamond CTS-V Sedan, keep it stock or just add exhaust, and get rid of this whole headache I've been having. On the other side though, it would be seriously hard to get rid of the Camaro since I put so much time, effort, money, and my style into this car to make it my own. Decisions, Decisions...

Any advice my fellow C5er's?
Been there w/ another car before this one and know the headaches. I would sell it. That`s why this time I wanted a ten second car that was reliable and ran like stock and built the car I have now, nothing but enjoyment, zero hassles. people always are like when are you gong to put a cam or a stall in it and I`m like it runs 10`s and I`m happy with it, lifes to short to be fixing breakages all the time and to running around in a car that doesn`t run right.

You could always sell what you have and duplicate my build. Would cost you 10k if you do most of the work, plus the cost of another SS. I would not try and "fix" the one you have, start fresh with a know commodity. I agree w/ you on the Zl-1 it just doesn`t do anything for me. The CTS-V`s are awfully nice and I can see myself in 1 in another 10 years, I gotta get a little older first though.

Good luck w/ whatever you decide, and keep us updated.

CTS-v in my opinion has a more mature feel to it and drives better due to the fact it doesnt have that very awkward narrow window line that the camaro has. I also think the V will have a better resale value in the long run.

If I could afford a CTS V, I'd be all over it. Thing is I'm trying to move out of a heavily modded car thats worth nothing and cost huge money. Next move is a brand new car(1LE), with a warranty and no mods that would void it.

If you buy a CTSV, leave it stock if you have the warranty. Just my 02.
