Anybody who has a phone call in to Putnam about what is going on(msrp ETC..) hear back as to the status of their order?

Here's my experience:

I canceled my order with Putnam due largely to the lack of response from them (in addition to Saving41's experience).

When I originally ordered the car from Ed Cerepak on May 15, he was very responsive. He quoted me an out-the-door price of MSRP plus tax, registration, and fees. I changed a couple details of the order the next day, and asked him to send the out-the-door price again. He responded with the order number, but never did give me the out-the-door price.

I then sent several emails to Ed over the course of the next week, asking him to send me a written statement of the agreed-upon price. He did not respond to any of those emails. During that week, I heard Saving41's story, and got concerned about my order.

Finally, I managed to catch Ed on the phone on the afternoon of Friday, May 22. He promised me the deal was still on, and that he would send me the written statement as soon as he got a chance. He never did.

When I finally emailed Ed and asked him to cancel the order, he responded immediately and said, "Will do." I got the message...

I'm going with another dealer now, obviously (Boardwalk in Redwood City). They've promised me a written, signed statement of the order as soon as I can make it down there in person. I'll report back on how things work out.

Dang, what a ***** (starts with "b" and rhymes with witch). glad you got out b4 it got ugly. i hope that your new deal works out for you.

After 8 months, my car arrived at Putnam yesterday. Putnam is stating that they will not be honoring their original price commitment to me. I’m going to start a new thread with details, but I also wanted to bump this one.

Oh no way. My car just got to 3800 _today_ and I ordered from Putnam. I thought this would've been cleared up and we'd be done with this.

That sucks.

Putnam gave me a call and said they are now going to honor the initial agreement. The car is supposed to be ready first thing tomorrow. I will let you know about the results after I pick it up.

So they need to be threatened on a public camaro forum before they honor the agreements they make? I feel bad for those people who order from them and do not visit these forums.

I would buy the car for the price they agreed and still do all the stuff you posted in your other thread.

Hey guys-

I just wanted to let you know that Putnam really came through for me. I picked up my 2SS/RS CGM last Friday. When the car first came in, the person I was working with had the day off, so there was some confusion about the price. After I sent over the paperwork, they agreed to honor our initial deal.

I picked up the car from Ed Cerepak on Friday. Ed is a great guy, and the car was perfect! Ed made sure the car was prepped perfectly, and I was in and out of the dealership in less than an hour. 30 minutes of that time was me test driving and inspecting the car. Everything had been done. They detailed it perfectly, Onstar and XM was setup, and it was ready to go.

I would definately buy another car through Ed again. And if you have a pre-order with Putnam, they honored the agreement with me, so I would be confident they would honor other pre-orders.

I spent the weekend in San Francisco, and then drove the car back down Highway 1 on Sunday. It was a great trip, and I have some great pictures, but I had to fly out for a bussiness trip this morning so it will be a few days before I can post them.

You can thank Greg (Savings41 on these forums) for his agreement with them. Everyone who has ordered with Putnam should be getting their deals/prices honored because of the incident he had with them. As part of the reconciliation, they are trying to make sure that the Camaro5.com people especially don't have any more problems with them.
