If you're wanting the V8, sell the v6 quick and you can probably break even on it. Shoot, might even make some money lol.

V8 is more fun but how old are you? If you just got your license keep the V6 it will be better then ending up hurt or even dead. You should be able to sell it like someone else said and almost break even better get it listed in your local paper ASAP!

V6's will never have the "umph" of a V8. Sure the V6 has 304hp but people. HP isnt what gets you moving... its torque! A V6 wont have the torque of a V8. The V6 is a great car and nobody is saying any diffrent but it will never be a V8.

The way it was recently explained to me by my car dealer is that if you trade in you don't pay sales tax on what they give you on trade in....

So if you bought your LT for $25000 at 8.5% sales tax you paid about $2100 in taxes. if you trade it in and the new car only costs 10k more you will pay an additional ~900.00 in taxes.

If you sell it outright and then by a 35k camaro you will have to turn around and spend another 3K in taxes.

Moral of the story it may make more sense to take a little loss on trade in to come out ahead on the full deal or whatever works i guess.

**I am not a car sales person...just throwing out how it was explained to me in case any of the above is incorrect...FWIW.

www.chevy.com/camaro + tax,tag,title. You already started a thread on this... the answer won't change.

And if you're wanting to feel the performance, get the stick.
That's not a crazy idea... Park it outside your local movie theater that's showing Transformers with a for sale sign on it.

I know Buffalo is a long way off but it's still only a plane ride out and I can still get you $500 over invoice on an SS and my dealer has stock cars coming in in the next couple weeks. Just an option. Hope it works out for you but IMO, if you're not happy now, it won't get any better. Cut your losses and get what you want. My .02

Call around to the dealers in your area and ask them if they would like to buy back your LT...chances are they have people chomping at the bit to have a new Camaro RIGHT NOW and will pay almost anything for one. Just be sure to get what you paid for out of the car.

Then find a dealer with an available allocation (slim chances at the point most likely) and order the 1SS that you really want...will probably take around 2-3 months to get it, so you will be out of a car for a while. But in the long run you will have what your really want...

Ok... I know I'm the new guy here... but I have a bit of experience in this stuff... Bought an early 2005 Mustang V6 and have seen thousands of these exact same threads... Guys who got V6's and wishing they got the V8... historically I would say all of them ended up with V8. Nothing anyone will say will convince you... I think that you posted this means deep in your subconscious you've already made up your mind... the question is how long before your actually act and get the V8...

I used to try and convince guys that today's V6's aren't like those horrid rental V6's of the 1980's... that today's V6s make for some very fun cars.. but I have come to realize either you believe that or you don't... So I no longer try to convince guys (I was know as the V6 Apologist... look up apologist if you are unsure what that means... LOL).

So yeah, sell/trade your V6 NOW while the market is still HOT!!!

Want the power of the SS? Put a blower on it, and add SUPERCHARGED badges to the hood. Then you'll have the ONLY supercharged Camaro in your area! Should be no more than 3K to do the job, and get you the performance you want, along with that cool supercharger sound!

That's a cool idea, except.... no warranty after that major modification.

And yes, you'll see many more V8 here in the Camaro forums. In the real world, we'll most likely be the minority before long. The V6 is the bread and butter car.

Get both...that way you can claim to be practical with a wild side

Seriously though...the V6 has plenty of power if you plan on driving it on a daily basis. Do you have the tapshift on the steering wheel for manual. When I really want to get on mine, I drive it in manual. My wife and I both like the Camaro so we will each have our own but I will not be driving mine every day so I ordered the V8 in addition to our V6.

V6 = Daily

V8 = Play/secondary

Or just buy 4 Camaros but change the exhaust on each.

Which is ok just pointing that part out. If you want the V8 then sell what you have and buy one.

Ask a dealer or go to Chevy website and build your Camaro and pick the options you want and you will get an idea of what the MSRP will be BUT, you are in California so you can expect dealers will want more than MSRP. If you trade in your base Camaro, it is a used car, so your dealers will likely offer you $15k-$18k for your V6 Camaro. It is a used car so don't think you can get more just because it is a Camaro...much less, a V6 Camaro. V6 Camaros are easily found in dealers' lots these days, 3 dealers within 25 miles from me have them...no demand for them and people would rather place an order and wait for a SS or begging dealers to give them first dib if someone drops out of their SS order.

You placed an ad in CL asking $38k then reducing it to $34k for your 1LT Camaro. That is SS price you are asking for a 1LT. You will have a hard time convincing someone to pay over $30k for a USED base Camaro, especially when new ones are available at dealers for less.
