Not difficult at all.
This is exactly the way to do it!

Holy crap, of all the nonsense to worry about, just WOW. Trust me, the mechanism doesn't know it is one way or the other..........it is inanimate.

And I thought the oil chage/catch can threads were pathetic. This makes me ashamed to be a "vert" owner.

yes I always rotate it back to lock now

at first I wasn't and after some time I noticed that the lock was pushing on the top in the retracted position and leaving a mark on the folded top.

Actually it does matter. I used to leave mine unlatched until I started to notice it wearing a hole in my head liner. I now latch it every time.

I bet anyone that eventually experiences a problem from it would get their warranty claim rejected because of improper use...it's better to do it the way the manual says.

Honestly, I never gave it any thought. From memory I'm thinking I've always left the handle unlatched. It's not one of the steps I've given much thought to.
But from what I've read, I will return the handle to the latched position.

He gets upset over anything even if it does not apply to him. He bashes catch cans all the time and refuses to believe all the evidence that they work, just because his mechanic said they weren't necessary. He has been suspended several times for bashing vendors every chance he gets.
