I think we could do Farley's on the 16th.
Maldo818, being in Alamo, I don't know any shops. I installed coilovers myself, I am sure that drop springs shouldnt be too hard. The only non basic tool needed would be a spring compressor, and I am not sure if one is really needed for drop springs or not. I didn't for my coilovers.

Cool thx danville, I've never installed springs so I wanted to leave it up to the pros to do it.

EVENT: Caffeine & Octane

Caffeine & Octane
Saturday, March 9th, 2013
Coronado Shopping Center (Corner of Sunland Park and Mesa),El Paso, TX

Hey everyone, Louis had informed me that this coming Saturday, March 9th, from 9AM - 11am will be a Cars and Coffee type gathering called Caffeine & Octane at the Coronado Shopping Center on the corner of Sunland Park and Mesa at the Starbucks Coffee. It's open to all types and enthusiasts and me and Louis have wanted to attend this, so we're posting this ip here to see if anyone else would like to join us this Saturday morning for the event and grab some Fudruckers for lunch afterwards? We can either all meet at the Rudolph Chevrolet for those on the west side of the mountains and drive out there or just meet up at the Starbucks.

Uhm, don't mean to bore you all with this, but I was looking over the owner's manual, and see you're only suppose to use Dex-Cool antifreeze at a 50/50 mix with plain water. You can get this at Autozone. $14 bucks a gallon. You can get pre-diluted 50/50 mix for $12 a gallon.

Also, only suppose to use Top Tier gasoline. I don't know if I've been doing that. I just now learned about this Top Tier stuff. For V-6 owners like myself, gotta be 87 octane or higher. I use regular-plus for that. It's the middle pump. Do NOT use gasoline containing MMT. If engine has heavy knocking, (spark knock), after using proper gasoline, take it in for servicing.

Also only 5W-30 engine oil, with the DEXOS 1 certification mark on it. This stuff is about $6.60 up to $9 a quart. You can get it in Semi-Synthetic, or full synthetic. Full synthetic offers better protection than semi-synthetic.
From owner's manual....
"Notice:
Failure to use the recommended engine oil or equivalent can result in engine damage not covered by the vehicle warranty. Check with your dealer or service provider on whether the oil is approved to the
dexos1 specification."

And you don't have to worry about adding transmission fluid, cause there ain't no place to add it. I don't think you can even check your transmission fluid level. There ain't no place to check it. There is no transmission fluid dip stick. Just watch for a transmission fluid leak. If you find one, get it fixed.

For proper pre-diluted antifreeze....

For proper engine oil...5W-30 with DEXOS 1 certification....

Yes, I know we've already talked about engine oil, but I posted this for newbies here.

Also, you can get the camaro owner's manual online at...

Ahh, I looked at it wrong. If you get semi-synthetic, or full synthetic, you have to add another $30. I'll get the full synthetic. Total of $60 for oil change at Viva, with the internet coupon.

I'll still get it changed at Viva this Sept. My car will only have about 1500 miles on it by then, but it will be one year old. Owner's manual says to change the oil after 1 year, regardless of mileage.
