I just changed my oil last week, used Mobil1 Extended Performance Synthetic and replaced old filter with a Mobil1 Extended Performance M1-113. In the 2010-2012 I believe, Chevrolet recommended the Camaros to use Mobil1 brand oil. Now that I'm sure is cause of advertising contracts and such cause of how hyped the new Camaros were. In the 2013s the brand was changed to Dexos or the GM brand oil, so I just stick with Mobil1 cause that's what I have been using throughout my ownership of my car.

I knew that I needed to have the oil changed for quite a while but never had time to do it. Spent $95 for 2 5qrt. jugs and the filter, not too bad considering that I only needed 8qrts. total to get the job done. Now I know that some will be all," Dude,it's cheaper to get it done at Jiffy Lube or Lube 'n Go." Well sometimes that's true, but I did my math. I know right? Me doing math, complete crazy, but I did. It costs an easy $85 to change my oil if I use the Extended Performance at a shop for 8qrts. and a filter. Now with tax that would come very close to $90. I bought 10qrts. from Autozone, I didn't have to use 2 of them, so that would be $8-$9 a quart each meaning a $16 savings and 2 quarts I can use next time compared to going to a shop. Plus I used the matching performance M1-113 filter of my choosing instead of what they slap on the car. So in essence I only spent around $75 for an oil change of 8qrts, reassurance cause I did the job myself, and use of quality filter. (Note: My math may be a little sketchy at times, so estimates may be off a dollar or two.:biggrin1 It was crazy the difference of how Stacee lifted off after I changed the oil.

I've been meaning to take a look into those magentic oil plugs to collect metal shavings in the oil. I know that some will always say that it makes no difference, but for $10-$15 for one, that doesn't sound like a bad deal to eliminate at least 15%-30% of that junk from recirculating in my engine.

I believe you used this oil. It's also DEXOS 1 certified.

I changed ours recently too Charlie. We don't take it in for that. We use the Mobil1 and always have.

As for Sat, sadly no freeway or high speed trips for a bit. I found out that the front rim has a hard bend from the wreck that Bravo never checked or noticed. Explains all the shaking at high speeds. But waiting to see what the insurance tells the attorney about replacing it. So until then only light and short drives :/

Hey everyone, Louis had informed me that this coming Saturday, March 9th, from 9AM - 11am will be a Cars and Coffee type gathering called Caffeine & Octane at the Coronado Shopping Center on the corner of Sunland Park and Mesa at the Starbucks Coffee. It's open to all types and enthusiasts and me and Louis have wanted to attend this, so we're posting this ip here to see if anyone else would like to join us this Saturday morning for the event and grab some Fudruckers for lunch afterwards? We can either all meet at the Rudolph Chevrolet for those on the west side of the mountains and drive out there or just meet up at the Starbucks.
We are thinking about heading down for this, but we won't be there at 9. Prob between 9:30 & 10.

Hey there everyone, February is coming to an end and you know what that means? It's Car Show season boys and girls!!! The cold air will finally be behind us ...thank heavens, and we can finally shine up the Camaros and show them off to the public in a comfortable temperature, and to begin things off with a bang I want to bring up to next car show that will be taking place on Saturday, March 23rd. The Wheels f Dreams Car Show has been put together and hosted by The Las Cruces Rodrunners and every year it just keeps getting bigger. Pat (SSRS2010), one of our members here with Camaro5 EP/LC, is president of the Roadrunners and has been in charge of the show for quite a while, and it's such a spectacle to see, if you haven't done so already. I think it would be great for us to finally be a part of this event, not only to represent the only Camaro Club in the area, but to also help in bringing awareness and proceeds to youth organizations and charities throughout the surrounding area. Pre-Registration is $25 before the show and $35 the day of. Awards will be presented for the event, and vendors are available for food and such.

It would be great if we could get a good amount of us together at the beginning to park all together as a group and showcase not only the 5th Gens, but if any of us have prior generation Camaros, to bring those out to show our enthusiasm for everything Camaro. I'm only using this as an example, but imagine, Pedro bringing his ZL1, Louis his 1LE, Daniel bringing his TF Edition, Eric both the '68 and matching '10, Don and Genny showcasing the vibrant colors, Mike with The 2010 Beast and his Blue 1st Gen, PJ with his '78 Z28, Chris and his 35th Anniversary, etc. I am talking with Pat to see what our limitations are or may be with setup and displays, but I think that it would be great to have 2 canopies for us to relax under and have the cars next to us on both side and the back.

I have provided the flyer and registration on the bottom, so take a look at it and let me know if you would be interested in joing me for this event. The sooner we plan for this, the better our setup can be and the more the day will bring. I will also set up dinner arrangements for us to eat at when the event is over. So what do you say folks?!

...oh yeah, btw. We will be bringing supports to hold the canopies down this time, juuuuuuuuust in case.

im sure ill be able to make it to this ill try and get my dad to come with me in his ss and me in my ss and ill try and get ppl around my area to go also i hope to see you guys there

Here again another service failure at Bravo. Did Bravo take your car out and test drive it, to see if it drove okay after they fixed it? Doesn't sound like they did.I've read about numerous service failures at Bravo in this forum. I've concluded Bravo can't get their act together in their service department. They are a bunch of screw ups.Now you've got to hassle with the attorney, and insurance company to try to get it fixed. What a drag.

We've had a lot of complaints about Bravo Chevrolet's Service Department for the past couple of years now. One of our members works there and has tried his hardest to help undo the bad rep that they have received. He's a good man, but the lack of attention to some of the issues fellow members that have taken their Camaros in the past for issues has gotten them a bad name. I have always taken my Camaro to Rudolph Chevrolet in El Paso on the west side of town, they have always treated me right and provided quality service for the issues I have taken my Camaro in for. I would recommend them to anyone, but that's just my opinion.

Started off at Bravo when looking for camaro but ended up at Rudolph and glad I did. Good people to do business with and have no negative experiences with Rudolph.

They did take it out (we actually had a couple friends see it on the freeway so we know for sure) but I'm guessing they didn't take it over 55/65ish. The shaking doesn't really become apparent until 70+ unless you knew how the car drove before the wreck. But they never balanced the tires (only did an alignment) and they never checked the rims. So they never saw it. Unfortunately, we didn't have a choice in who it went to since they are the only certified Chevy repair in LC and it would have cost us a ton to tow it somewhere else. But hopefully the lawyer will get it taken care of soon. Can't miss out on Ruidoso!!

I'm sure we can find you a spare set of wheels and tires somewhere that you can barrow.

Well, hopefully they can fix it to where you're happy. I'm 59, and I've had 2 cars that were involved in a wreck. I don't mean to be negative here, but they were just never the same after the wreck. The windows didn't fit tight, the paint didn't look right, etc. They were livable, but kind of screwed up at the same time.

One was that 99 cougar I traded in for my camaro. I loved that 99 cougar. It was a blast to drive, but never the same after the wreck. I told Viva it had been wrecked. They could tell. They're not stupid. They still thought it was a nice car. They gave me $1800 for it.

2014 camaro to be revealed on March 27th of this year, in New York. I'm almost tempted to upgrade to a 2014 1LT. Crystal red tintcoat, high-wing spoiler, RS package, rear vision package, dual-mode performance exhaust, mylink with nav, boston acoustics, with audio,.....I need to go take a cold shower, and come back to reality.Damn, I would enjoy that car, though.

So true, they are never the same after a wreck. My brother and I were t-boned in high school in my day's 76 AMC Matador-X. Never drive the same.

For the most part the Camaro is pretty close, other than the bent rim making it shake on the freeway. They matched the color well but hopefully we can just replace the rim and be done with that part. The lawsuit.....whole other story, we haven't even begun talking about settling with the guy's insurance co.
