The 1LE is not available with an A6, M6 only so it would have the skip shift.

Driving on Long Island highways with a stick makes me want to gouge my eyes out with one of those pine tree air fresheners.

So no - no regrets.

I've never driven a paddle-shifter but I can't see how as you say "it's pretty much the same as a manual ". When you shift a true muscle car ( not just any manual trans car) with your whole hand on the shift knob there's a FEELING that goes thru your body that I can't see anything else in the world can duplicate, let alone a finger tap.

I first drove manual muscle cars in the 60's ( new GTO and new 442) then not again until I got my 2013 2SS. That feeling stays in your genes because it IMMEDIATLY came back once the rpms got up and I was going thru the gears. Anway enjoy your automatic but treat yourself to driving a manual if you get a chance and I think you feel what I mean.

Ok with all due respect to auto people, still a great car and everything but please dont say that paddle shifting is like driving a stick lol. Not even close. I had an auto V6 and it was a great car...but I've always heard the typical "only a V6 automatic" and "its not a real sports car if its not manual" so I decided to grow the balls and just buy a manual when I got my V8. Absolutely LOVE stick. I learned it on my SS, and wile it took some time once you get the hang of it, its nothing. I would strongly recommend this to anyone looking to trade in. Really adds so much more fun to your ride. I feel like half the auto guys just didnt want to deal with learning stick or just thought they werent going to be good at it and thats why they settled for the auto. Not saying ALL auto guys but most. At least that was how I was. Still a great car though and I can understand people with their reasons(bad legs, city driving) but I really think everyone should just TRY IT! Its fun. Youll never know if you like it or not until you give it a shot.
But to answer your question...yes I regretted it. But not more than regretting getting the V6 over the V8.

I hate it when someone asks a question that should only be answered by people that actually own one turns into a debate such as auto vs manual V8 Vs V6.

All that was asked is if people with automatics regret getting them.... Why do people with manuals have to chime in and tell why they are better than automatics?

At this point in my life the automatic is a better choice for me. I have owned manuals, I have owned automatics, and although its not exactly the same as driving a manual it's close enough to give you a feeling of sportiness when you want yet the comfort and ease of the automatic at other times. To start this crap that you need to grow balls and buy a manual is about the stupidest thing I have heard...

No regrets. And although I wish the AFM were a little more refined I don't mind the few extra mpgs.

+1 billion

especially after I tore my left MCL: using a clutch would be painful for more than 20 mins of driving at one time. My testicles are fine, thanks.

I know. How about: What do you like about the automatic compared to the manual? I know I may sound repetitive at times, sorry!
