CAI Intake Waterproof?
I recently got a 2010 2lt Camaro and i have been looking into intakes.
Im pretty settled on getting the CAI intake but i wanted to know if it keeps water out. Where i live it rains quite a bit so water damage to my engine is a big concern. Thanks. |

The CAI system is essentially a sealed short ram intake system. Unlike other systems, (injen in particular) that relocate the filter out of the engine bay and closer to the ground, the CAI filter is located in roughly the same position as the stock filter. I have never heard a single water issue with the CAI system. They are excellent quality and I recommend them. We also just got a huge shipment of them so we have them in stock! Please feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

You will be fine, I have a roto-fab and have never had any problem with water. The only intake you have to worry about sucking up water is the injen and running through a deep puddle or something.

I have the injen and it works really well. You might want to consider a hydroshield which will protect against water more. Ive driven hard through rainstorms and snow storms with no issues. The only thing you have to worry about are deep puddles.

Our CAI designs has been tested and passed for water intrusion, it is completely sealed off and has never had a single reported incident of water intrusion. We sell these all over the world, and have never had an issue. Dont try and drive your car across a river and you will be fine, normal weather conditions will not pose a problem.
