I'm more worried about keeping it between the lines going forward!

Speaking of going forward, why don't they put a couple of those backup beepers on our front splitter?

I use my camera as an assistant for the wide angle capability when backing out between cars. Other than that I use my mirrors to back in and park so I don't become dependent and have to constantly look down at a camera instead of checking my mirrors.

Yeah when I rented a 2012 SS, there were guidelines on the mirror. I tried looking at all the settings on the mylink but there isnt any. The guidelines would be great and hope that GM will do something to get us an update. I would really like the guidelines as well. A very tremendous help when backing out especially with the blind spots on our cars. Let's do this GM?

It seems logical to me.

I have a 13 and it does not have lines, nor is there an option anywhere to turn them on - trust me I've looked EVERYWHERE in the settings

I have tried using the side mirrors angled down so I don't rub the tire/wheel on the curb but I think the lines would be better. For anyone who has used them are they accurate enough to avoid hitting the tires/wheels?

'Dave' at Chevrolet Live Chat (Mylink page) says:

Alright, thank you for your patience. I can confirm that the guide lines are not an available feature for the 2013 Camaro's Back Up
Camera
.

If I remember correctly, the guide lines were only available on the GMC Terrain's back up camera. Honestly, I have no idea why they wouldn't make it available for any vehicle with one equipped considering it's a great feature, but I don't work in engineering so I'm sure there was some reason they didn't. The coolest thing though with the new MyLink and IntelliLink systems is they're easily manipulated to add or remove features due to the whole Linux architecture so I wouldn't be surprised if they made it an available add-on through update in the future. That's pure speculation on my part though

My wife's '13 Equinox with MyLink & Nav does not have the guide lines either but it was available on the '12 model. I was told by GM Infotainment group rep that the '13's have a different head unit supplier from previous years and that is the reason for no guide lines and they aren't sure if a future update will give us that function back. I know this may or may not be the reason for not having them in the Camaro, but since they do share the new MyLink touch screen radio option, it might be due to the same supplier.

My Avalanche had grid lines that moved opposite the steering wheel. I really want them on my Camaro! I usually back up to park since my splitter is so low.
