Did anyone consider that this salesman may know someone in the Chevrolet engineering dept. Engineering will always know more than sales. Can't build it until it's already been designed.

Its not a dumb move, this would make 427 1LE the ultimate track car. A LS7 is 16K$+ from GM, so its not a good deal to buy a stock SS and put a stock LS7. Its badass, but not cheap. If it has a GM warranty on it and a tuned suspension for it, it will be one hell of a car. I'd be totally over it. I would sell my SS 1LE and try to order one in 1-2 years.

Props to you for turning your own wrench, but in the end, a modded car will always be worth less and cost more than a factory 'modded' car.
