2010 tire question/GM warranty

Looking to downsize to 18" rims(for an LT model) and the tires recommended are 245/55/18. Not a lot of selection(and a little too much rubber showing). What do you guys/gals think about dropping to a 245/45/18? Will it drop the stance noticeably? Will it void GM's warranty? And is 245/40/18 too close to the road to be worthwhile? Just looking at options/opinions. Thanks in advance..

..btw, car is still in Canada..

true story

as long as you dont go radically smaller or larger, it wont void your warranty... and as long as you're on a V6 car with the stock brakes, they should fit... its when you go to the SS cars that you run into problems because of the big Brembos at all four corners.

There is a calculator on the web somewhere for tire combo's. I forget the URL google for it. You put stock and it gives you options and even speed match and or differences.

I think I saw that on the S10forum dot com somewhere. They do crazy stuff to S10's.

Call Tire Rack and they could probably tell you what options. I would try to keep the speedo stock.

It will devalue the car in Carfax and the like if you get a inspection hit saying the odo is not accurate.

Really not planning on selling it..maybe drop to 45 only(10mm?)..hmmmm..

..speedo and RPMs will be off somewhat..will it improve performance or create more problems w/ the CPU?
