Hello from Pittsburgh - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hey everyone. New Camaro owner here in Pittsburgh! Traded in my 2011 Malibu LTZ on a 2012 2SS - Orange with matte black rally stripes.

And now a story to make you all cringe:

I bought the car without the stripes from Tom Henry Chevrolet near Pittsburgh (awesome dealership and great service). I drove it for about a week, and then took it back to have them apply the stripes. I finally had the car exactly how I wanted it, and was cruising around town. About an hour after picking it up some teenager rear-ended me at a stop light. The kid said he was reaching down for his Dr. Pepper and took his foot off the brake. Next thing he knows he bumped into me.

Luckily there's no visible damage, but I still reported it to my insurance company and I'm getting it checked out to make sure everything is cool underneath. A couple of seams in the rear seem slightly different on either side of the car, but the difference is really minute. You'd probably have to have an eagle-eye to even notice it... but I'm hoping it will be resolved when they remove and re-attach the rear bumper.

Anyway, that's my horror story. I'm not much of a car guy in terms of mechanics (I can barely rotate my tires). I more appreciate the artistry behind car designs. Makes sense, considering I'm an animator/motion graphics designer for a living. But I'm glad to be a new member here and look forward to learning a lot!

Chazdogg89, CONGRATS on the new ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.
