a LFX on Sat and my LLT on Sun...

This is a good weekend for some data gents (and gals)!

I wish I had a ported TB going into this, but at least I have the Vararam, Black Ice, and MRT V2. Will be nice to see peak gains, but I also am curious to see where in the RPM band the power will be coming from.

Only a couple more days !

I'm also running Vararam.

Really curious to see how your dyno comes out, because it seems like cars with the VR do not always dyno well since it relies so much more on good airflow getting into the intake.

Vararam says the intake should dyno the same with the hood open or closed (provided it is getting airflow) so I say either way you dyno it is fine, as long as it is the same way for both before and after tests of course.

!!! We are all set... Our buddy Ashe @ IPF will be ready if we need to make any changes and I'll be logging. Most likely no changes will be necessary but we always want to monitor!

And yes the LFX is 8AM on Saturday owned by Blues45th, we'll see how that goes and I'll post those results!

Good to know - I'll talk with Matt when I'm there to see how we'll dyno it. By chance, do you know how Vararam dynos their cars? What kind of added airflow, if any, they are using? Maybe we can mimic that if at all possible...

I wish I could tell you exactly how they did, but I'm not 100% sure. I was all over that thread when they were developing the VR, so I have an idea, and thats where I remember them saying it should dyno the same either way.

I'd say if Matt has a fan that pushes a good amount of air, id point that sucker right at the VR "scoop" in the grill. If there is no fan, raise the hood for both tests. If you can, it may be interesting to test your intake temps during your dyno runs. If the temps climb way high when your doing a run, I'd say thats a good sign its not getting sufficient airflow and may be knocking you down a bit on power.

Do you happen to use the Torque app? It would be worth seeing how the intake temps react under a full throttle run on the road with the VR intake. I don't think they should climb too much, if at all. Sitting still though, it climbs quite a bit. I have the app, and I've monitored the intake temps quite a bit, but can't remember exactly what it does on a similuated dyno run....say 30mph to 100mph in 3rd gear.

Matt, do you think you guys will be tuning any 2012-2013 LFX A6 Camaro's in the near future, to compare the dyno numbers with your previous 2010-2011 LLT A6 Camaro results? Thanks for the reply, as I am waiting for a true 10 % Horsepower Increase over Factory Stock!

Matt does his own custom tuning on the LFX since he can access those with hp tuners

Check out the LFX section where Matt has posted dynos of his results on LFX V6s. He does not use IPF for the 2012+ Camaros because he is able to tune those himself.
