Size of stock 2010 2SS wheels?
I've always thought that the 2SS or any RS wheels are 20". A friend of mine has a set of stock wheels from a 2010 2SS RS that he is selling and told me they are 21". I think he was going off the stock number of the tires, not necessarily the size on the sidewall. Even looking at a 2010 brochure, I only see 20", the 21's are the dealer installed wheels. I'm going to have him double check the sidewall number, but I was just wondering in the mean time. I really want to buy them, they were taken off when the car was delivered so they are perfect. But the difference in tire price between 20" & 21" is crazy, so I only want them if they are 20".

I think you can special order 21" wheels from the dealer at buying time. Stock is 20"...245/45ZR20 up front, 275/40/ZR20 out back on the SS.

The stock wheels were taken off and the 21" black/silver wheels were put on, that's why the stock ones have never been used. So if they are the stock SS/RS wheels, they have to be 20" then? I pulled out my 2010 brochure and the only 21's are the dealer installed ones. I think the OEM Pirelli's have a 21 in the part number which led him to believe they were 21".

I guess in a nutshell, I'm just wanting to confirm that there's no such thing as a stock SS/RS wheel that's 21"? Not the dealer installed wheels, just the standard looking 5 spoke SS/RS wheels.

Standard 5-spoke are 20" and tires for the 21" wheels are stupid expensive.

The only factory 21" wheels I'm familiar with GM offering are the ones on the Dusk Special edition (see my sig pic) All other GM wheels top out at 20".
Many dealers add stuff and put it on the sticker without necessarily telling people though.

You can get 21" wheels as an option...but the stock SS size is 20".

Gotcha, thanks for the answers. That confirms what I knew all along, but was confused when told they were 21", lol.

In 2010 when you got the dealer installed 21" wheels, you got to keep the 20" SS/RS wheels. Some people didn't know this and the dealer keep their 20" wheels. So he most likely has the factory 20" SS/RS wheels.

Yes, that's what they are. They still have the stickers on the tread! I think the confusion was from a "21" in the Pirelli model number on the sticker.
