Hiya KSX, welcome (back?) to the club!
The hood is made from aluminum, it should cut like butter.
It's one of those things I can't wait to do, but am apprehensive about doing. Not that I wonder if I can do it, but if I should.
Check out these videos:

And there are lots of cool pics in the rest of that thread.

We will leave at 0900 Head down to Letchworth State Park and do a cruise thru the park. Stopping for a few snapshots around the falls and Railroad bridge. Then down thru Fillmore to Angelica where we will have Brunch at the Angelica Hotel. Then back in the cars for a trip down I86 to Olean, Salamanca, Springville and to Buffalo. Maybe find a Dairy Queen or someplace else to finish the trip up there. Suggestions? As I said there MAY be a charge of$8 per car to enter the park. I dont see this happening so early in the year. Maybe the flowers will be in bloom in 5 weeks. Anything I missed? I would like a list of who to expect so I can let the hotel know and maybe set a room aside for us. Ill post this up in the Upstate forum also.
Sounds like fun don't know if car will be out of storage by then (given all the crap weather we are still getting) and as soon as i get the car our of storage want to get new grille installed (Hint Hint Lisa remind Baby Daddy he has my grille) So I would be a definite maybe

I bought an extra set of the plastic cowl cover pieces from a salvage yard, the black plastic pieces that run from the windshield down underneath the hood including the hood seal. That way I can hack a set up without risk and also give myself more options to seal it back up if needed.

You know I can take the hood off! I also grabbed another washer fluid sprayer assembly while I was at the salvage yard so I don't have to keep swapping them over when I switch hoods.

I'm also thinking about the blackouts for the nose below the headlights and grill and also for the tail section around and between the taillights. If I do that I might get rid of the orange hood spears on the "normal" hood. I haven't decided yet.

Anyone have or installed a MGW shifter? I guess I'm gonna call on my head teach JoeBot. But just curious if anyone has installed one.

I have a LSR short throw shifter that has been great, but I upgraded because...... Well if you know me I can't keep anything. Here is my list if changes in less 24 months

CAI= airaid, CAI, and now SC
LT headers= pacesetters with hi/flow cats, and now TSP and off road pipes
Stereo system= two 12" JLs, and now 1 ten stealth box
Tuner= predator, then custume tune, and next tune after April 15
Wheels= Stock, stock powder coated, nichie, and now F14s
Cam= stock, to TSP 231/236, to custume 228/236 115
Catch can= 4 off them. I still have 3 except one is going to George.
Undrive pulley= stock, then SLP, then back to stock
Numerous parts under my hood and changes with help from JoeBot
Forced Induction= had TT sts system, now SC
Methanol kit= snow stage 2 (sold), probably gonna run Alky Meth. Depends on New Era

MY advice.....Pic your MODs wisely, buy want you truly want first.

I'm getting better buddy, start physical therapy come Friday. Two more weeks off from work so I'm happy about that.

But yes at this point a Zl1 would have been a better option. I dunno I'm thinking after next summer I'm putting my car back to stock and buying something different. Ie zl1, or 6gen when that drops, or even I heard about the ls7 coming out. We will see. But after this summer or next I have lots of parts for sale.

Don't forget Upstate C 5 is on facebook. If they did away with this thread & only had FB. I would have to go on the Buffalo thread then.
