If the PDIM is fubar, not sure how much it would help.

It doesn't have to work perfectly to prove that it can work. As long as at least one of the functions unique to the PDIM module work, we can prove that the PDIM is functional on a 1LT or 1SS head unit. In effect, we can have 2SS features for the low price of a PDIM module instead of the high price of a fully loaded Camaro.

This is true.

It sounds like (from the other thread) the PDIM module just outputs analog sound to, in effect, the same pin(s) that the aux port does on the non-PDIM cars. The module likely uses CAN to talk to the deck for control, etc.

Just waiting for my new PDIM to come in. I am waiting just in case the dealer needs it for anything......it should be sometime this week.... I will tell them I want the old PDIM back.

Like I said, it does display song info in the main deck, and shows that a song is playing... I just cant get audio.... from the AUX or from the USB.

I tried pairing my phone with the bluetooth, but I had some problems......I could see "General Motors" as a visible device in the bluetooth connections screen on my phone, but when I tried to connect to it I got some kind of error.

If I get some time I will reconnect the PDIM and try it again. In the meantime, you might want to make sure you have the connector that plugs into (powers) the PDIM. It sits kind-of under the shifter, torwards the back of the console. There is a little resting place for the PDIM there. I would imagine your AUX cable runs through there somewhere.

I've been watching that oe site for a while now. From what I've read elsewhere & seen on the GM accessory site the unit will be available to add USB (same link as recently posted, but been looking at it under my local dealer), but it does not say anything about Bluetooth, it may not be in this particular unit. Apparently my dealer likes to jack up their prices more than the one he linked though

look at the 4th pic in the original post..... look at the top right of the module...

......yup right where the glare is so bad you cant see.... its a bluetooth symbol.

the manual posted by UCF w00t in post #18 explains the bluetooth capabilities as well

Yea, the unit definitely has bluetooth. It's the reason we have neato pictures/info from the FCC.

Huh, you'd think they'd put that in with the discription on the GM site!

I didnt see that in the pict, I did see in a post somewhere mentioning the BT but figured it wasnt right.

That would be great if it did! Maybe the problem is you must have steering wheel controls as well in order to use it :(
