Spoiler??
I have a 2012 1lt rs camaro covertible and i tried to get a spoiler installed and they said they couldn't install it because it would mess up the fm/am signal because of the antenna. is there any spoiler i can buy that will fit and not mess up the signal

I have a 2SS/RS and a rear spoiler and the Shark antenna. No issues. Here is one of the pictures of my car from a few weeks ago.

The AM\FM antenna is in the spoiler on the convertible. The shark fin is for OnStar and XM. The AM/FM antenna can be removed and relocated to the bumper area if you want to go with an aftermarket spoiler. There is a thread in here somewhere with pics from a member that moved it. I will see if I can find that thread.

I know I've seen some people on here do it, but you have to mess with the wiring and all that fun stuff I do believe.

As mentioned, the XM antenna is in the shark fin, the AM/FM antenna is in the spoiler... so it isn't a matter of "interference" with signal ... it is a matter of the antenna not existing in the aftermarket spoilers.
Zandron is correct. The link that he posted is to Kal's post showing relocating the AM/FM antenna that is located in the stock spoiler on the convertibles. You can either leave the antenna in the stock spoiler and just buy a replacement antenna, or you can try to remove the antenna from the stock spoiler and reuse it. |
