Well, you could just put the cars on the track and STFU. Bench racing is for women. Just saying.

Why don't you go back to defeding your blue typing and you are FAR worse than me for acting like a know it all and getting called up because you are wrong, by the way, the truck is SOHC, not a twin cam which refers to DOHC before you go there........

My best friend has a 6.0L gto that has an intake/larger ported manifold/headers, exhaust, mild cam, tune, wider tires full aftermarket suspension and its a beast. He also has a 2012 6.4L Superbee Charger stock. I've driven the GTO, CHARGER and My Camaro. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE 6.4L! It's beastly and I personally think Dodge lied about the HP. It in no way feels like the heavyweight that it is.

Next time to the track same result with nannies off 12:72, spinning through 1st. I finally said hell put all the nannies on and see what happens, bang 12:40s and 12:50s every single pass. No crazy antics slipping and sliding. Just goes to show you some of us are not as smart as our cars are . It makes me wonder how the ZL1 auto would fare running down the strip with nannies on?

That gto looks sweet, my friend has a 06 bolted and cammed! The 392 is a beast, and it very well should be faster! It cost more, has better gearing and more power! Gonna take boltons for a camaro to even things up, big deal. If the 392 did not have an edge on a SS then it would be a total fail! Throw some headers and a tune on a 1le and bet the 392 gets walked. We could bench race this crap all day, All I say is bring it on!

Some cars (high HP and very fast) are quite easy to launch with the nannies off. Then there are cars with half the HP that are very difficult to launch without using the nannies. But with the SRT-8 it could be as simple as a lack of tire under the car. But in many cases its the suspension setup. My 06 GTO was way more difficult to launch than my Camaro SS. The GTO came with skinnier tires and a much softer suspension. The GTO only makes 400hp, but its a PIA to launch off the line in stock form. |

wait a minute. im not talking about opions to raise price. u wanna talk about cost of car, quarter mile speed of car, and potential of said cars. i got my ss for 32,750 with an rs package. installed 1LE gears and headers exhaust, tune, cai, back seats out and sparco fronts. and another 50-75 lbs out of car. total cost still under base of challenger charger srt's. and quarter mile time will soon come when it gets nice out around here. but all things point to a low 12. look, im not tryin to bash the dodges. they are finally getting fast and good looking again coming out of factory, but for cost we all have to have common sense on this thread and just say it will depend on driver, condition and so on. hero times are what it states, uncommonly good runs. remember, most pple here got a 1ss to save money and not get 200 more lbs to slow u down. even a base 392 ur paying alot for the extra .2 sec.
im sure if i went to a mopar forum with a tread about a hero time from the ss i would get murdered with posts. lol. |
