Thumbs up Wheels and Tires Purchased

Rudy and all - Thanks for all advice given on this long thread.

Just purchased the Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow tires and a set of wheels based on discussions here.

In the end ANYTHING is better, in the winter months, than the summer tires that come stock!

Wow now that a good bit of snow there. Looks like the Camaro is handling it nicely with its snow shoes!

I am a Chevy sports car fan. I have two Monte Carlos, one for the winter, and the other one is my classic, summer show car. Anyway, the '03 winter Monte is starting the dreaded rust, on the quarter panel, and the 3.4 engine has already had the intake manifold gasket replaced. So I was thinking about trading in the '03 Monte (even though I love it) on a 2010 Camaro LS, but being RWD, I really need to know if they can make it through an upstate N.Y. winter. I know from driving RWD '80's Montes that you have to load up the trunk, & put studded snows on. Is it safe to drive Camaros in snow/snowstorms? I need advice please.
~ Thank You!
Yep, as said you absolutely need snow tires (performance winter--don't need studs). But--the Traction Control and Stabilitrak systems are truly incredible. If you've never driven a car with systems like this, they work to literally straighten out your car if/when your back end starts to come around behind you. Go for it!

Been driving mine year round since 09.
we have had some mild winters but as long as snow is not 8" deep it has been good. Winter tiers scorpion ice and snow; on 19" rim
Getting ready to swap out to stock summer next month. 20's

Just curious if those who are swapping tires for the season have an extra set of rims to go with them or just have your local tire shop put swap them between one set of rims.

Second set of rims here. Since you have the V6 (no Brembos) I recommend the Heritage steel wheels. They're pretty cheap used and look great especially without the silver trim rings.

You can do it either way but most have an extra set of wheels. Much easier to do the switch over this way.

Older post - but its September. I will be keeping an eagle eye on this thread. Lets gear up for winter!!

I posted a question earlier but it looks like it was deleted for some reason.
I'm trying to buy a snow tire and wheel package from tirerack but they dont have the 2014's listed yet. Will I be ok ordering a package for a 2013 SS? Or does anyone know if there were any changes like bolt pattern or spacers or anything else like that?

The only things that changed from '13 to '14's has been the refresh of the exterior. Mechanically, everythings the same.

Yes, I have not heard of any major updates. We should be able to go off the 2013 fitment.
