Shift Knob *photos added*

Mods: Please leave this here for a bit... I posted it in the shifter section and didn't get any replies.

The other day I drove my cousin's mustang, and I began to notice how much I hate the 2012 shifter knob on the Camaro. I have the factory hurst option, which I like, so I would just want to change the knob if possible. Can the 2012 knob be replaced with the 2013 knob? Or would I have to swap the whole shifter?

EDIT: Photos added on page 2

Funny you posted this as I feel the same way. I think the 2012 Hurst shift knob is way to big for my hand at least. I would love to change swap for the 1LE knob or the ZL1. Has any one changed to aftermarket and if so wich are interchangeble. It seems like the knob does not just thread on.

I like the shifter, just not the knob. And I don't like the aftermarket hurst shifters because they're way too long.

I ordered a new knob for my factory hurst shifter from www.epcoshiftknobs.com last week. Should be here next week, can't wait.

I Canot tell from the site , but do those knobs come with an adaptor? My standard 2011 SS factory knob is pressed fit onto the shaft , not screwed on. Isn't the 2012 the same ? You will need an adaptor right?

It says on their website that it is not threaded and you need to call for adapter options...

I got a Rally GM licensed knob. I called and talked to someone (can't remember the name) but there is a link to accessories on the home page and you have to order adapters for our cars since it's not threaded.

You have to order a retainer boot and the Non-threaded kit. It's a little pricey but I figured that it's cheaper than the rest of the stuff I have done.

Ok I just looked it up, thanks. Is the new knob the same length as the stock one?

that's pretty cool.
How hard was it to install?
how did you hook it up to make it light?
