Look to the first post.... What you are saying was irrelevant in the real world. If I ran a 13.6 and the conditions were great, then he would have ran a great time too. But he didn't... Common sense man.

Can't blame the driver if he didn't do the shifting. It's the car that was doing the work, not the driver. If the driver was the issue then that would be evident in the trap speed, but he was trapping 103ish....
He was doing runs from 6-midnight with cooldown periods just like me.

P.S. my friend's bolt on 5.0 on drag radials trapped 108. Stock L99 is not going to touch a well driven bolt on 5.0.

Here's the highly modified G35

He tried a variety of techniques, it bogged and ran 14.0+ with TCS on. We both got bad 2.1 60 foots, but it was dead nuts the entire 1/4 mile unless I was in Drive Sport and let it short shift into 4th before redlining 3rd at the very end. This is very clear in the videos.

You know I would agree.... But there's simply no denying conditions were perfect for both of us. We even got the same 60 foot, and were both in full auto mode.... Yet it was dead nuts! There are a variety of reasons listed in the thread pertaining to why he ran relatively slow for L99, including OK 91 octane and ECU taking away some timing.

Hes not stock people showing his stock looking engine doesn't cut it.It could have gears torque converter tune, anything we would not see hallo.Even on other forum hes not impreesing anybody.People know what ss and g35 run and it sure ain't those time.Even bolt on 5.0 are trapping 108 in his world. What up with that. His buddy tuned and bolted SRT is running 13.5 at 105 and seems happy with that lmao.

I raced a stock 2007 G35 once, I lost but it was no way looked like it would be in SS league

Been stalking this thread awhile. Obviously a 2008 Auto G35s is the fastest car. I know I'd never line up against one. They're just so fast!

I think we have found a possible reason.
It is very well known fact that the L99 A6 has a horrible low octane tune mode. L99s have dynoed as low as 280 - 290 rwhp in low octane tune mode.
This could very well be the issue.

Trapping 105 mph isn't all that bad for an L99 A6 running the low octane tune.

Theres no point in trying to explain things to him. I know plenty of bone stock l99s that would destroy his car, and have seen many 2000+ Da passes in l99s at the camaro events that I attend that would have him with his tail in between his legs. If this guy actually thinks that driver has nothing to do with what that car is running then he just will never get it! That car is in low octane mod, you can tell by how soft the car is pulling out of the hole and why is MPH is so slow for the DA.

As the word spreads world wide that G35s are just as fast as a Camaro SS.

Don't forget, this forum (especially this section) is for entertainment purposes only.
It's like watching WWE wrestling.

G35....your pointing out magazine times for your car. Then when we do the same for the SS you say its "What you are saying was irrelevant in the real world. If I ran a 13.6 and the conditions were great, then he would have ran a great time too. But he didn't... Common sense man."

What common sense actually says is that the SS has more in it because we have a CRAP TON of proof that the L99 can run better than what you ran against.

So you ran a good time in the G35....congrats. But for fugs sake stop talking like your car is every bit as fas as the L99 even on a good day and a good run.

Do that and people will start taking you seriously.....well maybe.

I don't think he said/saying he could beat every stock L99.(not unless I missed it)

Just that nigh he was CLOSE to 1 stock L99.

But I did see he was poking fun at v6'ers , but that's funny lol.

I don't know much about the G35 but my buddy has a G37 that is bone stock and his first time ever at the track he ran 13.7 all night with a few 13.6 passes trapping at around 102/103. Those cars are no joke. BUT an L99 is a faster car. End of story. End of discussion. Clearly something was wrong with the car or the driver.

Well I don't take that seriously b/c hes been running at a local track with a fellow V6er here a time or two and they seem to just have fun with it.

Otherwise, I don't think beating a car that doesn't make much more power, and weighs considerably more is anything to brag about.

Usually where they run, the DA is 2,500+ and and SS is lucky to get into mid 13s, but this particular run, the DA must have been very good.
