Do you think GM missed the ball my making the z/28 a track only car?
Sure it can be driven on the street, but with no amenities. I think they should have made this into a more streetable car. Drop in the ls7 and a few other goodies. The price could be in the 40's then.

no. I wish it was stripped even farther, crank windows, vinyl seats, rubber mat, no console... now that woulda been cool.

I feel like they might have lost some people but if they would have out all the luxurious that go into a ZL1 into the Z/28 they would have been approaching a corvette price tag and people would probably buy the vette over the Camaro or just go for ZL1 instead. So by stripping it they made it cheaper and a more track oriented enthusiast car.

It would be funny if the nearly 600hp car (ZL1) is a more streetable version than the 500hp car.

strip it down and jack up the price(on a name)..now that's good business...should've limit the production#s too, then jack up the price some more..
..saving weight on manual windows, good one. |

Yeah, there has to be another option to slim down a car then selling a $50k car (my wag) and taking out all the things that make driving enjoyable like sound insulation, all the speakers except one (like my 68 Chevy pick-up), and the air conditioning...shit why not take out the starter so you can always park at the top of a hill and pop the clutch?

I highly doubt it will be cheaper than a ZL1, and really no radio? That is silly..I would have opted for manual windows, aluminum fenders and trunk lid to save the weight..just plain silly...how much could it possibly weigh..10 lbs? Including all the speakers?

They built the Z/28 just as it should be. If you add all the other crap then it's not a true Z/28..
If anything they left to much in it.. You have the ZL1 if you want the comfort and performance.. If you want the badge buy it and slap it on your car, it will be cheaper in the long run and just as fake if GM put in all the luxury crap..

It is a track car. If you want creature comforts buy a ZL1 or a 1LE. They neiled the performance aspect of the cr.

My only gripe is that the our current ZL1 and Z28 should switch nameplates to be better in line with history. If that is all I can complain about I'd say they are doing well!
