The torque of the ZL1 will carry it's weight well and still be very strong against the Z28. No dyno graph of the Z28 have been posted, so it will be interesting to see where it's max torque and Horse Power is being made. As far as the Z28 300 pound weight loss, it is very impressive but it did come with a price of luxury and comfort loss. The 3 sec lap time could very well have a lot to do with the tires, ZL1 Goodyears vs Z28 wearing Pirelli. Both cars will hold there position very well.

What looks like a catch can is the oiling system taken from the Gran Sport Corvette. Supposedly it was developed for track driving requirements. Also running full synthetic Molbil 1 right from factory. Dexos oil is a synthetic blend which is good but GM 4718 spec or equivalent is approved. Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic for me! Dexos and GM 4718 spec approved. I think Mobil 1 is great stuff but I like Pennzoil a wee bit better. First stop for me when my car comes out of storage is to my lube shop to drop out the blend and go all out full synthetic. Mobil 1 is factory filled in the Corvette and the new Z/28 so why the hell not in my ZL1.

Tires, brakes, suspension and weight make the Z28 a better track car. ZL1 is better car in the fact that it is more suitable for the average person - great on street for everyday driving and can beat most cars at the track. Only bad thing for ZL1 is the price for the average person.

It's too funny to me seeing all the salty comments coming from the ZL1 owners. As for how I feel about the new Camaro....as I said when the ZL1 came out, I love my Modified Camaro and wouldn't trade it for nothing. As for my opinion on the redesign, I love the new rims on the Z28, not feeling the tail lights, the lower half of the front is killer but I'm not feeling the new grill and the new seats are BEAST (I know MY next mod)!!!

Has anyone heard what track the Z/28 lapped three seconds faster than the ZL1?

As i posted either earlier or in the other ZL1 vs Z28 thread, the ZL1 is currently third for car & driver's VIR Lightning Lap.

If the Z/28 is actually 3 seconds faster, that would put the Z/28 SECOND (About 1 second FASTER than an LFA) and the ZL1 fourth. With the 1LE around 10th.

Its most likely Nurmburgring. Probably safe to assume Aaron Link was the driver and his best time in the ZL1 is 2.52 at VIR. 3 seconds faster would put the Z28 in ZR1/Viper territory which would be mind blowing to get the Z28 to complete at that level with less power and some suspension mods. Not saying its not possible...but probably isn't.

The zl1 has 3:73 which is great for launching and the supercharger makes up for top end

I agree with the tail lights, don't like them. I do like the wheels and the grill is good except the upper and lower don't match

How about the 2014 ZL1 with a 427 S/C (ls7?) engine. That would raise some eyebrows, and of course A/C.

It would probably raise Goodyears stock price too. I'm going to need a new set of tires before I hit 10k miles as it is...
