KOOKS FULL EXHAUST

I am just about to pull the trigger on a full exhaust, and I am leaning towards KOOKS 651504-CX-MUFF

I have an L99

But I have a couple of questions:

1. Will I still pass emissions with this system?

2. Can I ditch the cats till it's time for my emissions? with a tune of course..

3. Do I need some special cats for the state of Colorado? Green?

4. Does anybody see any reason I should not go with this full set-up from KOOKS?

TIA..

Tuning will be required unless you go with the Green cats. Otherwise you will set a CEL. It is possible to pass emissions with no cats, however if they look you will fail the visual inspection. With cats you are good to go. We recommend cats as there is very little HP difference vs catless and catless exhausts tend to sound raspy in my opinion.

The full KOOKS system is awesome and allow's you to run a full 3" system and not have to "Neck down" to 2.5" like most systems do at the mid pipe to catback connection.

Please feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Best regards,

Tyler

Do you have Kooks headers?
That part # is to be used with Kooks headers only.
(just in case you did not notice that)

I have the full 3" on mine with hi-flo cats aswell as the Kooks headers. I love it,and customers that hears my car are saying that the car sounds great.

Can't answer your question about the emission in your state though.

I can tell you,big chance your check engine light will come on with the hi-flo cats, they will not come on with the green cats.

while the check engine light does not come on with the green cats combine the kooks headers and a intake and you will definatly have a no bueno air fuel ratio and run super hot.

So as long as I get a tune with my set-up I really don't need the green cats do I?

Correct.
The tuner can shut off the codes that the hi-flo cats can cause.

Nope if you plan on tuning, the green cats would be a waste of money..
