Not to mention those all new Recaro seats in the Z28 are way nicer than the stock run of the mill seats in the ZL1.

We have not priced the Z/28 as of yet.

However, I think one needs to look at all the 'go-fast' pieces in the Z/28 - for example - take a 1LE - then start pricing for all the 'go fast' stuff. Don't forget that someone had to re-engineer an entirely new HVAC system to DROP the A/C. Let's also look at the costs to engineer and VALIDATE the new Z/28 - and then let's consider that the team had to convince the Board to approve a vehicle - and that it would not LOSE money - because the Stockholders don't like it when we lose money on a vehicle..............

So - keep all that in mind..........

And let me say it once again: CAFE standards..........

Yeah, uh, I give up. I guess we will see. But, IMO, you should probably be prepared for disappointment. The Z28 has a lot more to it than you think.

I believe if they didn't offset the v8s they world get fined or something along those lines. And keep in mind CAFE was passed in 1975 because of the OPEC oil crisis.

Thanks again to you and your team for all your hard work with the Camaros. Hopefully some of the z28 technology will trickle down and end up being shared with other models.

Yes the crate engine is more money but the actual cost to build does not. An LS3 and LS7 block cost the same in materials and machining they just charge more because they can. I'm not knocking it its just facts.

I understand the brakes are more $$$ but I think the real price increase is due to the engineering and certification costs.

I was just talking about this today, we are at the end of another era. I for one am glad to see GM putting out the big engines while it still can. In the next few years when all cars are required to have 35 MPG, there won't be any big engines produced.

So, an LS3 black that is build primarily by machines and robots cost the same as an LS7 that is primarily built by hand?

You know why people use machines and robots? To save on labor cost. Once you pay for the robot, you don't have to pay it to work hourly.

If the LS3 and LS7 had the same COST for GM to build, GM would sell them for the same price.
